  • thanks. *Q_Q* but if this is just the basics... *chills up her spine* im going to be living in my science textbook

  • Thank you mr khan, my new teacher :)

  • CELLULOSE NOT CELLULITE~

  • jajaja entendi mas de este video que de la clase q me dio mi maestra,, thank you

  • He explained cells

    ...like a boss

  • You are my HEROOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!

  • This is AWESOME thank you so so much

  • good job

  • anyone else thinks he has a really sexy voice?

  • Prokaryote has no nucleus. Does that mean RBCs are prokaryotes?

  • @kery643 No, Kery643. RBC's have nuclei during their development. They are extruded before the RBC's are released by the bone marrow. The other organelles also are not present, making the RBC a "bag of hemoglobin".

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH. BECAUSE OF YOU MY SCIENCE TEACHER SHOWED ME HER BIG BLACK TITTIES!

  • you gotta love this guy

    "Animals...we are animals...at least...I am." -Khan

  • How can man make videos of everything that is a science?

    Man eats books.

  • this guy explains things so much better than my Micro and Physio teachers. AMAZING! thanks a bunch =)

  • wow this is very clear to understand! thank you :)

  • your are just an amazing teacher! thank u so much for your time ! if would give 1/10000000th back to society like u do this world would be a much better place ! thank u again god bless u

  • llllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooossssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • I shall not fail my science exam now!

  • you are the reason as to why i will be passing my bio exam tomorrow :)

  • great job, on your video...the best one I seen so far..:)

  • I just have to subscribe! Thank you sir! For actually making this interesting and easy to understand! Not that the cell structure is hard but you have helped me in many other topics! I am a big visual learner and my teachers hardly ever do this sort of thing which I love. :) Thank you!

  • Are you Charlie the Unicorn?

  • 19:33 "hard-core rigidity..." gotta love sal

  • Khan is going to help me pass the once hated "sciences" LOVE Khan U!

  • The writing in this is better than my normal writing with a pencil....

  • Haha Nucleuses.. : ) It's okay you're still a genius!

  • Omg! Thank for all the help!

  • keep this up, just started bio, its a good way to recap and re-stimulate my brain.

  • @khanacademy Thank You so much!! I have a test tomorrow and I thought I knew everything, but I decided to watch this video and I learned so much!! Thank You!

  • This is really helping! Subscribed.

  • thanks for posting this vid. u really helped me to prepare for my exam on cell !!!

  • lool "name of a band"

  • i learned way more stuff on khanacademy than school

  • Don't you call the fluid in the cell ''cytoplasma'' and not ''cytosol?''

  • @Gmudi Cytoplasm is all the stuff inside the cell, including the organelles, cytosol is just the fluid.

    Hope that helps :)

  • @ProcyonVulpecula Ah, now I understand :)

Thanks for replying to my question.

  • i wish he did more advanced vidoes! he explains everything so well!

  • 19:31 hardcore virginity.

  • thank you

  • "endoplasmic reticulum: might be a good name for a band."

  • Lol 'Cytosol' instead of 'Cytoplasm' xD

  • @Neylena FAIL

Cytosol is the correct term for the intra cellular fluid

The cytosol or intracellular fluid (or cytoplasmic matrix) is the liquid found inside cells, that is separated into compartments by membranes.

  • just passed this class with a "C" man was it academically challenging, the only reason I a got a C is because I showed up for every Lab..

  • I trust Khan to my eddication!!!!!!

  • @niena123456789 education*

  • i have my biology exam tomorrow and i now have a fighting chance... ugh im freak-en out

  • Filamentous Cytoskeleton?

  • I'm pretty sure without these videos, I would be failing bio right now....Uber grateful!! =]

  • Anyone with me in forming the new nerd metal band "Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum"? Anyone?

  • Freshman Honors Bio. 'Nuff Said.

Thanks so much for this video. I understood everything after just viewing this once. Thank you, Sal.

I also viewed your Diffusion and Osmosis video. I might view it one more time, and it's ironic how simple the processes are, but they tend to confuse myself alot. Seriously, I can't thank you enough.

I really appreciate you for making this.

You know what would make my life?

Making AP Human Geo Videos. I would offically develop a crush on you. So, do it. <3

  • first yr of highschool

and im taking honors bio, hard honors class freshmen yr and the only one im taking

its interesting and i have to worst teacher ever(thts why i always go to the other teacher's office hours)

these videos teach me better than my bio teacher does only reason i do good in bio

  • Taking a test on this tomorrow and this help me so much :)

  • HE IS GOD .

  • thank you so much. i have a test tomorrow and watched this at last moment. we'll see the magic ;)

  • What did you use to draw that?

  • @josbribel paint

  • cytoplasm: cytosol + organelles

  • @KalDaCow well.... your biology textbook is wrong.

  • Seeing how my great uncle created this cycle, I decided I should respect him by memorizing and learning this cycle.

I learned and memorized this entire cycle within 2 hours.

    Thanks.

  • Great vid thanks

  • Hey Sal, could you do a video on the parts of the mitochondria and where the different parts of respiration take place inside of it?

All my exams ask questions on it and I can't find a video to explain it to me :(

  • Excuse me, my biology textbook actually says that microfilaments helps the cell move and that microtubules are what keeps the shape of a cell.

  • omg these are so helpful... the apps from iTunes are especially nice, you can watch them anywhere since they're downloaded to your device :-)

  • I just learned more from this in 20 minutes than i have in a week of science. Thnx! :D

  • i have a test every friday! lol

  • @kelliemoua Plasma membrane is present in both animal and plant cells. But cell membranes are only in plants: they are tougher than a plasma membrane and help the cell hold its shape.

At least, thats what my bio teacher said.

  • @TrebleIsMyMiddleName yes, cell walls are found only in plant cells

  • @TrebleIsMyMiddleName Cell membrane and plasma membrane are the same thing cell membrane is also called plasma membrane and CELL WALL the the outer most covering of the plant cell and it is not present in animal cell:)

  • is celluar membrane and plasma membrane the same thing?

  • @hafsa692 Nope

  • ???? If --- i'm sick of this i hate science i don't get this is irritating.

  • You are my hero.

  • Thanks, you have no idea how much you have helped me :)

  • I'm doing independent studies, and these vids save my life!

  • I trust khan on these subjects more than I trust my professors :)

  • @3cheers4forever one of my professors is called Dr Khan lol and i still trust this guy more

  • dude you're my teacher !!!

  • This is way toooo complicated it could be much more informative if it was sumarised in less than half the time!

  • yeah your video's save my tests Thanks a lot!

    @daafkedus laarman sucks :)

  • OK TEACH, you caused me to get a B rather than a A because of you failure to properly spell cytosol. In your diagram you spelled it cylosol PLEASE PLEASE keep up the great work just PLEASE print slightly larger and watch your spelling. Sorry to sound critical but your peers seem to think it matters on test.

  • @Jamesecott007 ikr but he pronounced it as cytosol if you listened carefully

  • Thanks a lot, i've got a test (in dutch, but it is mostly the same names pronounced differently) tomorrow, and my teacher just cant't... Teach, or at leas I can't pay attention to her when she talks... XD so I needed this, thanks lot!

  • lol I have a test in french on this~!. but lucky the names sound the same~! thanks for the help

  • "haha were all animals, at least i am" says Sal. Finally, something Sal is wrong about. Your not an animal, YOUR A BEAST!!!

  • haha i have a test tomorrow as well !;o

  • thank you so much!!!

  • "we are animals, at least I am" :D (Plants and aliens might be watching this too!)

  • YOU ARE A MOTHER FREAKING GENIOUS. (:!!!!!!!!! Dude you helped me on a project and I got a freakin 100!!!!!!! 100<< CAN YOU BELIEVE IT A 100 ABOUT TIME . Anyways thanks yo XD

  • "hardcore rigidity" I like that. On the other hand, thank you so so much for this video. I finally understand what vesicles are!

  • 5 ppl saw this only after they failed the test

  • @cinimon08 thats me.....

  • @cinimon08 I just failed the test then i found this wonderful video.

  • For he spoke , and it was done ; He commanded and it stood fast ( Psalm 33:9 )

  • good video, nice handwriting

  • I think my 4 science teachers dislike this!

  • I think my science teacher learnt from him!

  • OMG thank you so much!! you are the best!! I'm learning with you what I didn't learn 5 years in university puff :/

  • 9:00 ROFL LOL

  • I have a bio test tomorrow and I finally get this! thanks alot!!!!

  • @imhereformusic

    lol same here man

  • @mrhandsome931 good luck!

  • Your video rocked... I have a Biology exam tomorrow and this is incredibly helpful... I wish you were teaching my class. I didn't know the difference between Eukaryotes and Prokaryotes (the professor I have is awful). Thank you so much!

  • THANKS SOOOOOOO MUCH! Your helped me a lot really! and it was so great that you explained slowly and calm so even i could understand it :) (english is not my first language)

    :)

  • Love that sexy voice!!

  • i have a cell test for biology and this really helped thanks!!!!! :)! i love you salman khan!!!!

  • God bless you -- the world needs more people like you. Awesome video!

  • VERY VERY helpful and easy to understand. thank you!!!!!

  • This taught me all the things my teacher couldn't!!! Thank you so much!!!

  • they put your video in our school

  • VERY IMPORTANT:

The Golgi Body is not attached to the ER. They're connected via vescicles, which are essentially sacks of molecules surrounded by a membrane.

  • you are a faggot i hate you you are the reason i have homework cuz my faggot teacher likes your video fuck you ARGGHHHH

  • @ToLazyToEdit lol ur a stupid piece of shit kid. you would have homework anyway. Doing homework using sal's vids actually makes homework easier.

  • Thank you. I am horrible at science and I have a test tomorrow on this stuff.

  • your drawings are amazing. Are you an art minor/ graphic design by chance? XD

  • Thank you.

  • i can see clearly now!

  • thks is have a cell project due tomorrow

  • Dude I love you

  • I'm in 7th grade and we have to make a cell, I accidentally left my things at school and this helped me SO much to get my materials that I need thank you Khan Academy!!!

  • Thanks to you, my biology presentation was an A. Now I can still pass my class this quarter.

  • wow seriusly awesome video thanks alot

  • Probably the best vid on cells I've ever seen. Thanks!

  • this vid is osm.

  • hey this video will really help me in bio this year. Thanks Sal :p

  • So you know the end cell, the end animation... Is it accurate? Does a cell like that exist, with all those functions and all those organelles and such combined?

  • symbiosis is beautiful. Everything in this video is getting me high lol

  • DNA is like this creative force of nature! Consciousness connections anyone? Weirdness! Just a theory! haha

  • BIOLOGY IS AMAZING!

  • DNA gets transcribed into MRNA when it leaves the nucleus and gets translated into proteins at the ribosomes?

  • I found it funny when he said that we're animals but then he said "at least I am" lol
