Don't know about this device, but in case of Roland VP-330 and Yamaha Motif XS6/7/8 you can sing, but it is ignored by it. The pitch is not given by your voice, but by the notes you are playing on the keys.

That's not what a vocoder is meant for though, it's a separate task. yeah, definitely wouldn't take it that far. The art of music is more complicated then the simple aesthetics of an interesting vocoder melody. but nevertheless, the vocoder is an interesting tool that can be used in the creation of great art

Hi, ik heb een probleem met m'n Microkorg. Ik wilde laatst eens de vocoder uitproberen, maar bij de condensator mic krijg ik meer synthgeluid dan stemgeluid door, en met mijn dynamische mic (een goedkope Philips) krijg ik wel een mooi geluid, maar alleen is het veel zachter dan wanneer ik de Voice op Synth zet. Weet je hoe ik dit op kan lossen?

anyway: in this vid the sound of the microkorg/vocoder is played through the laptop speakers. the total sound (the sound of the microkorg/vocoder AND the sound of my own normal voice) is recorded with the mic of the camera. maybe that's why the words are coming through a bit more clearly. plus I tried to sing the same notes as the notes I played on the keyboard.
