The gameplay isn't really innovative or original (it's still fun) but the amazing dark story, great characters, and mind blowing music is what hooks you. I would highly recommend playing the game before you judge it. This game has what is virtually nonexistent in games today: heart and soul. If you're still skeptical then at least rent it. =/

@RHart1680 um no the 360 has the better graphics chip and I'm pretty sure by now everything is using 32bit colours giving over 4.2billion possible colours. The only limiting factor on th e360 is that it only has a DVD for storage if it had a medium similar to blu ray then the difference between 360 and ps3 would be that ps3 had a better cpu and 360 had a better gpu

The thing is, Square lost their most competent people after the fusion with Enix, so they won't reach the goodness of some of the old games. People still adore the FF series religiously, regardless of the game's quality.

Even if Square spit out horrible game (like FF13), people would still love it because it's Final fucking Fantasy.

first of all, the horrible HORRIBLE story telling. Why can't they explain anything in advance? Why do you have to watch people turn into crystal to let a character explain: "Hey this guy must have fulfilled his focus, cause you know, if you do you turn into crystal, right?" aaaaaargh

next, the linearity. you thought FF10 was linear? in 13, you are literally drawn around by the dick everywhere. if they wanted to make a movie, they should have made a movie

If you still like the game, I don't know why you are playing RPGs. If the bad story doesn't reject you, you might as well play an action game like God of war or dantes inferno.

Crisis core was better than FF7 imo, i gotta give them that, and Dissidia was good at what it was supposed to be - fan service.

BTW I also liked FF x-2. It was hard to screw this up because the source material (FFX) was so good, even with bad and perverted programmers.

If the brand "FF" was completely unknown, FF13 would've been torn to pieces in the reviews and no one would buy it, FF12 would've been acknowledged as what it is - a decent game and kingdom hearts would never have been made.... oh how i wish

@SirZidane also agree with that, I have a ps3 and all the 'best' games for it and i've only enjoyed Metal Gear Solid 4 out of them, the games i have enjoyed are lesser known titles like Eternal Sonata, Folklore, Valkyria Chronicles and Enchanted Arms (Really good game dunno why everybody hated it) Then there's Assasin's Creed played it an hour and never touched it again, Devil May Cry 4 likewise, Haven't enjoyed a square game since they merged with enix, and the other examples suck in general:P

As for graphics, bluray has a SLIGHT increase in graphic capability than dvd simply through an HDMI connection, however since most games that are made for both ps3 and 360 are limited the same, you very rarely see games push the limits like that. but yea, as for the consoles themselves, it's all the same lol

@FrozenBladeOfChaos No, they're not the same. The PS3 has a faster graphics processing chip, and can use more colors. Bet ya, a game like Heavy Rain would'nt operate have as well on 360 as it does the PS3. But with that said, I have both, and have my likes/dislikes of each.

Blu-Ray can hold up to 25 gigs of space so developers are able to usually store the game uncompressed making the game run and play smoother and look much sharper. 360 is just a standard DVD holding up too 8 gigs of space. So the developers have to then compress the files. As well as the 360 can't fully display at 1080p only 720p it wasnt designed for the technology. Don't say Im biasis i own both systems!

The PS3 has settings, to put the resolution on 1920x1080 1080p. If the doesn't support it, it takes the resolution or ppi a step lower.

Final Fantasy 13, for an example, runs perfectly with 1080....

And... imhp God of War 3 is not the "biggest" Game on ps3. ;)
