  • im not going to go as in-depth as bricerm305 did, but overall you did a good job with the piece. the few things i would change are, as heshe mentioned, watch when you go to the G because you did go sharp. also, make sure to be singing from your chest, not your throat. lastly, some of the words did come out muddled. other than that, great work! we're only being nit-picky because its just a few details that you need to nail down

  • I loved everything about this video good job.

  • O.K so I was in this play at the Hickory Community Theater this May 09 and judging by the videos people post on Youtube i thought that we were the only ones who actually gave justice to the script and the music BUT i was wrong!!!! YOU did AMAZING the set costumes and Talent is UMBELIEVABLE !!! You guys did great!!!

  • Wow, you are so full of yourself.

  • I was just telling the truth! All of the videos i have seem have been pretty crappy but here i see an amazing video and was like WOW!

  • I love the performance and your voice. Thank you.

  • great looking set and costumes. you played the character very well in this scene and thats what really counts. i played barrett my senior year in high school and here are a few things i would suggest

    work on your breath support

dont strain to hard on the last few measures when it gets high(breath support helps with that)

make the orchestra follow you not vice versa

  • Continued...

Also, once you went sharp after the "Baaaaaaack!" you lost your concentration, and got sloppy. Shake it off and propel forward because it can always get worse but a true professional will continue with no second thoughts. Please don't take my comments as insults, as I said you do have a great instrument but fine tuning, polishing, and learning NEVER stop!

  • Wow.

    Really?

    Necessary?

  • Continued...

Breathe properly using your diaphram and hear the note in your head before you sing it. You need to think ahead of the music in your head as you sing. The accent was inconsistent and a vocal/dialect coach can help you with perfecting the words in the songs and dialogue.

  • OK...first off, you have a beautiul voice! :) Now to comment on some opportunities. The song is being played too slowly and I'm not sure why the conductor/director went with that tempo. Also you were probably nervous but you rely too much on your vocal power and forget to support. This makes it harder to sing through phrases. Also when you hit the high sustained notes like the "Baaaaaaaaaaaack!" you overshoot, go sharp and have to recover.

  • i thought this was awesome.

  • awesome!!

  • Is barret a big part in the musical

  • eh kinda-there isnt really a lead in titanic

  • Depends if you're playing more than one role

  • slow down sailer on your lines, and you do know that it is Yorkshire accent oh well you sound good, but it is a hard song

  • If you're having trouble getting all the words out that fast (which it really isn't, fyi), try over-enunciating. Also, your accent really slips in several spots. Beautiful vibrato!

  • u have a good voice but ur really out of tune and ur pitch was really off

  • explain why you say out of tune and pitch was off. tis the same thing. and yes i was outta tune. no excuse really. oh well $hit happens

  • yes $hit happens, but make sure it doesn't happen on the highest, loudest, most NOTICED notes!!

  • well your right. but live performances are sometimes where these things happen. i appreciate your remarks, and thankyou for your constructive criticism

  • i think u need to stop making excuses. We're doing this at a high school and a 15 year old...is truthfully better then u..sorry dude..like i said, good voice...but u butchered this song

  • ahh well. its sad the fact that you have to comment like this. obviously u know everything. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why are people being so hard on you? you have a really nice voice, and dropping the accent is totally understandable, it is much more important to have nice intonation and support on the big notes then an accent. i think your a good actor, i love the start of the song when you use a bit of falsetto its beautiful. i would just say watch pitch in your lower range cuz it can get shakey and have a little bit more of a focused sound on the big notes because it can get spread. but overall really good

  • im willing to bet many many dollars, that the afore mentioned 15 year old is not "better than" rcampbe EVERY time.

I played Barrett twice, I know how hard it is to maintain this accent AND hit those notes at the same time. (and I'm FROM Britain!)

  • this was my second time in titanic. first time i played fleet. barrett is a good part though. im from northern ireland, and crap at doing accents

  • dont get me wrong..u have a fantastic voice..really..but u butchered the song

  • how do you say he had a fantastic voice...but the only song you heard by him he "butchered"?

PLEASE bring your 15 year old to our drama club.

we have a 13 year old who would take a dump on him.

  • The guy playing Barrett has a good voice.

Can't help but thinking they're looking awfuly clean, though... lol

  • lol. i didn't think about that but you're right. :P

  • this is obviously not brain darcy james do u even know what he looks ike its average!!

  • yes, i know what he looks like. and ok, this is average...but the apple tree ALWAYS looks average, no matter how you do it, and bdj was in that too. i was just curious. thanks for helping. :)

  • of course ths is brian darcy james are u crazy hes crap your all idiots!!!

  • if you don't like this song, can you please find a way to say so without offending everyone who likes this?

  • iam crap though.i sang out of tune, tough song to sing, and wasnt looking after my voice. too fond of the old booze haha

  • ur not crap. Ur very good. It's a hard song to sing. U did very well.

  • anyone know if the barrett in this is brian d'arcy james? he does my fav rendition of this song and this sounds a little bit like him, though it doesn't look much like him. and does anyone know where i can get this song??? it's not on iTunes!!! :[

  • If you think that this performance is well... You've never heard the german version sung by Patrick Stanke. THAT'S totally amazing

  • It's so powerful. This is excellent. Who ever played Barrett was the best on your cast from what I can see.

  • This song is sung so well, one of my favourites from the musical. Great job!
