Nice video. Prepare for caps-locks and cussing in anger since im a flyer fan. OOH FUCK OFF DEVILS, GET PWNED FAGS. No, but seriously. On a Hockey note, I believe they are making a great move in signing kovalchuk. Good luck guys.
Though the Flyers showed up the Devils this postseason, they win based off of cheap play, bad reffing and garbage goals. But, honestly, the Devils beat the Flyers twice in the ECF, one coming back from 3-1 down, both on the way to a Cup victory, I think it would have been injustice if the Flyers had lost that series. Flyers - you can have a petty quarterfinal series here and there. Our Cup wins (in the past 15 years, not 35) pad these few seasons of disappointment. See you next year.
@MartysBetter30: The Flyers didn't beat the Devils based on cheap play, garbage goals, and bad reffing. The Flyers were the most penalized team in the NHL (one of the top 3 at least), so that excuse doesn't work. The Flyers have turned the tables on the Devils after they went 3-1-2 against them in 08-09. The Flyers went 5-1 against NJ in 09-10 and smoked 'em in the first round because the Flyers are deeper offensively and defensively and the Devils are getting old.
@Crawford1987 Devils aren't getting old, and the Flyers aren't deeper than them. The Devils just didn't play/show up for the series. Like they didn't care. They gave up once in the 3-1 series hole. As I said in my first post, the Cups and wins of recent years pads these few disappointing seasons.
@MartysBetter30: No, the Devils were just overwhelmed by the Flyers' defense. Pronger, Carle, Timonen, and Coburn were able to shutdown Kovalchuk and Parise and after them, there are no threats offensively. Elias isn't the same player he used to be. With the Flyers, you have Richards, Carter, Gagne, Giroux, Hartnell, Briere, and JVR that are all threats to score. Pronger killed the Devils on the scoresheet too.
@Crawford1987 I do think that the devils were a bit intimidated by prongers presence. but I would say that the Devils were almost as deep as the flyers in scoring, which leads me to think (and with the 3-0 home game 5 loss) that they just quit and gave up.
@Crawford1987 i cant say id agree that hartnell is a scoring threat and elias is not? or van riemsdyk over zajac/langenbrunner. but i agree the devils were certainly troubled by the defense; they had little to no offensive presence the entire series.
@psuscott0483: Hartnell isn't a play maker or a sniper, by any means. He scores alot of dirty goals, because of net presence and his willingness to grind along the boards. He had a down year this season, but he's consistently score 20+ goals each season (except this year when he had 14). He had a career high 30 goals last year and has become a productive power forward. Hartnell is just an S.O.B. to other teams which make fans think that he's just a goon.
lofl the flyers has been in the nhl longer then the devils but the devils still won more cups when did philie ever have a defensman as good as scott stevens and when was the last time the flyers ever had practicly the best golie in the leuge. three good reasons you should kiss my ass
i dont think that the flyers lost the first two times they played this year??? oh yeah i forgot, kicked the devils ass two nights in a row so shut the fuck u
The Devils brought in Rolston(35) for more scoring and Holik for depth at center, so they'll party like its 1995 for a several years, but what the Devils are really doing is avoiding the inevitable, which is a rebuild.
That's why, if I was a Devils' fan, I would want them to trade Rolston(35), Elias(32), Langenbrunner(33), Madden(35), even Brodeur(36)...then, they can turn those trades into high first round picks, and will be able to go all young and throw a few veterans in. That's my 2 cents.
I know what I said sounds crazy, but look at what the Pens did. They all of their best players, collected high draft picks and then used planned suckage for 4 straight seasons and got the 1st overall pick in 2003, 2005, second overall pick in 2004, 2006. Those picks turned out to be Fleury, Crosby, Malkin, Staal..and when they didn't get the first or second pick, they drafted Ryan Whitney(2002) who's going to be an elite defender for years.
well Marty has 3 full seasons left in his contract, not including this year, so we'll just have to wait. He's 36 now and is not the same goalie that he was from 2000-2003, but, he's still the reason why the Devils are able to win with their low-scoring offense and stubborn defense (Although their defense isn't hasn't been the same since Stevens, Neidermayer, Daneko, and Rafalski left).
Marty will turn 37 in May and Elias(32) and Madden(35) aren't getting any younger...
true, but the Devils didn't have Rolston and Holik playing. Then, they lost Langenbrunner for today's game. I'm a Flyers fan and am excited that they swept the Devils in the home-and-home series, but it's not a true guage for the Flyers in how they match up against the Devils this year. They match up against last season's devils and were able to do a good job beating Brodeur, but the Flyers gotta win the season series to refute this video.
crawford, i commend your comments on this page, very modest. it will be an interesting matchup this year between the two teams. there have been a lot of interesting twists so far early in the season for the devils.
Yea no problem...I hear that Brian Rolston will be back when the the two teams meet on Thursday. That should give the Devils a huge offensive boost, even though they've been uncharacteristically scoring a lot during their hot streak (except against the Pens). I guess that's how you cope when you're without Marty.
"Philadelphia is 92-78-18-7 all-time against the Devils franchise, which includes Kansas City and Colorado." -Flyers website
So there you go, the record you were referring to is the record against the Devils in New Jersey (not against the Devils teams that played in Colorado and Kansas City)...but anyways, congrats on your victory tonight, even though the Flyers let that game slip away...
...btw, was that supposed to be an icing call when Elias tied the game?
im not sure where you find that record or why the record against kansas city matters all that much but i used flyershistory . com for the one i referenced. it was an icing but i think biron playing the puck is what caused it to be waved off. it was a close game, back and forth the whole time. very entertaining minus the dull first period.
well, the Flyers and Devils split the season series this time, psuscott0483, with each team going 3-1-2 against eachother. The last game at Philly was really entertaining. And that was a nice shot by Langenbrunner to tie it at 2-2 in the second period. I could tell that you guys missed Elias on the powerplay though. He's had a great year so far and really seems to have re-established his great scoring touch that he seemed to have lost the past year or two. I think Parise will win Hart also..
i actually was at the last game in philly, boo'ed out of the wachovia center 2 yrs in a row (last yr apr 4)...lol. oh well, you do have some "passionate" fans there. flyers look good this year,to be honest i am glad they likely wont see each other first round in the playoffs because the devils need to get some momentum going...losing 3 in a row now, yikes
yea, well that happens to every fan from other teams that come into the Wachovia Center (especially Caps, Pens, Rangers, and Devils fans). In fact, a lot of Flyers' fans still haven't gotten over Claude Lemiux's game 5 goal in 1995 and the Devils 2000 ECF comeback, so lol, yea Devils fans are gonna get booed every time.
But I'm sure the Devils will be fine, I think they just have struggled on the road lately, but they've been great at home...which is where they're at against the Canes tonight
But they're still the Devils...if you want to only count when the Devils moved to New Jersey, then fine, but that doesn't negate the fact that they were the same team in Colorado and Kansas City. The record I posted 4 months ago is valid, if you go by an all-time record...so yes, it counts.
New Jersey leads the Flyers 83-65-15, since moving to New Jersey (mostly because of their home record: 52-23-6...and especially with them dominating the Flyers from 2005-2008). It's starting to even out..
Wow...I can't believe you are still going on about this. 1hits2besthitback, you need to grow up. If you don't understand what he means by it being the same team back in K.C. and Colorado then you need to get off of youtube.
the flyers are gonna come back against the devils. i hate both teams to my grave and then some. but the flyers are gonna ASS RAPE the devils in the 2010 season.
PossessedDonutz, I wouldn't go that far...see, the Flyers split the season series with the Devils this season, after being owned by them the previous 3 seasons. Idk...i guess it depends on whether Sutter will return for next season and if Marty is still going strong, but we'll have to see what happens. Jersey is still a good team.
the devils always beat the flyers? then what happened on April 4th 2008? OH i remember thats the night the phantoms, the sixers, and the flyers ALL clinched the playoffs withing minutes of each other. but i can't seem to remember who the flyers played that night, some shitty team... i'll look it up........ oh what a coincidence it says they played the devils that night, but i though they always beat the flyers? NOPE i was there and they had to pull Brodeur. MARRRTY, MARRRTY, MARRRTY!!
weve already covered that here. i was at the game i dont need a reminder. you need a reminder the devils are 16-4 in the last 20 against philly. 11 in a row at home.
yea, the devils have had the Flyers number since the beginning of the 2005-06 season, but the Flyers still lead the all-time season series. The Flyers tanked their season in 2006-07 to get a high pick and start retooling their team, so understandably, the devils went 7-0-1 against the Flyers that year. By the way, since your obviously a Devils fan, wouldn't you agree that the Devils should just start rebuilding their team since they're in decline?
Cause, Brodeur is 36 now, and we saw in the postseason that he's human, and can't do it on his own anymore. They lack a dependable backup goalie, which is why Brodeur has to start 75 games every season, and they just don't have the offense. I thnk Rolston will definitely help, but seriously, Bobby Holik? Are the devils partying like its 1995? This will sound crazy, but i think should trade Brodeur, Elias, and Rolston and collect high picks, so they can do something similar to what the Pens did.
according to flyers history website the flyers are not ahead all time against new jersey, actually the opposite. most teams lead with a star goalie, not two to switch on and off like the flyers having a goalie go cold, it doesnt allow them to get in a rythm. i dont think they need to rebuild the team, just focus on scoring goals. rolston and holik should help.
Well according to that site, the Flyers are 62-80-15 against the Devils. But according to the Flyers website, they're winning. I don't know if the Flyers history website includes all games since the devils expanded, but oh well....not a big deal. As for the Flyers goaltending...Biron was just getting adjusted to being a no.1, so its expected that your gonna have a goalie go cold, unlike Marty Brodeur. As for getting more scoring, you know Holik is 37, right? Rolston is 35
Actually Forsberg was 32 when the Flyers signed him, and you can't compare Rolston and Holik to one of the most influential players in NHL history. He was hurt alot, I know, but when he was in his prime and healthy, he was the best in the world.
it was a good game but it's only preseason. The Flyers played well, with Briere getting a goal and 2 assists and Gagne and Richards scoring. Devils got a shorthanded goal, which proved to be the difference, but the preseason is all about gaining chemistry and seeing what works. The Flyers also beat the Devils the previous time 4-1, but again, it's only preseason.
really? smoked? lets bring up the 1988 playoffs and talk about that too...it matters just as much. ill repeat, 16-4 in the last 20 against philly...thanks. 08 playoffs, did the flyers win the cup? no? sorry, they lost too, great job.
yes they made it past two mediocre teams and got to a team in their division and it looked like the pens were playing against a highschool hockey team. ya they beat the devils who were already in the playoffs apr4, devils are still 16-4 against them in the last 20.
ya had to go back to years when you were still in a diaper to find a series matchup they won...good job though, thats completely relevant today theres like 3 players still on the team.
fuck u, u racist pussy. y don't u learn how to speak fucking english u dumbass. the cryers will never be as good as the devils. i'm not even black so idk y ur calling me racist names u stupidass. not suprising comin from a cryer fan. u guys and ur piece of shit city are so low class that its pathetic.
y dont u go bak 2 fif grade and lern how 2 spel wurds. neither series has anything to do with each other; the flyers are playing the capitals, whoopee. they were 1 game from not even making it in playoffs, yea id be talking shit too if i were you too.
yeah bitch and we smoked ur asses to get there and that only progressed broduers downward spiral............i cant wait till next year if broduer's as good then as he is now you wont be a challenge...................and i wished the devils woulda made it to the next round i wanted to see what would've happened when we met (oh and by the way im only 1 person so the to of me cant take shit, especially from you,re retarded ass)
ill agree they dont seem strong this year offensively or defensively; however i think consistently they are one of the strong contenders for the east...buffalo was as well except for this year..and the senators also look awful. dont forget the devils came back from a 3-1 deficit against the flyers a few years back and took the cup. we'll see what happens tonight..should be exciting.
i mentioned a few years back because hawkmeat said about always having trouble coming back from series deficits. its hard to talk about coming back from them without mentioning past years since this is the first series matchup this year since playoffs JUST started. you're a genious.
NJ is always tough, but the Rangers will fight them tooth and nail. Either NJ or NY will be beat to a pulp in advancing. Brodeur's confidence has been shaken also, when he was pulled in Philly on Friday. NJ is very fragile now and the Flyers are playing a bit more loose than earlier. Flyers will make a push; Devils lose in rnd. 2 and CO may win the cup. Just a prediction. Go Flyers though and NJ is still a tough team....
Good post. Marty has played all but like 7 games....UNTIL he hit South Philly, where his ass was pulled; good point. Yes, the times have changed and here come our Flyers. Devils and Rangers will kick the stuffing out of each other; whoever advances to rnd. 2 won't be worth a damn and it will give way for the Flyers. It's a new season my man. Thanks for the post and reminding these Devils fans that the Flyers have a winning streat agains NJ at one game and Marty still can't believe he was pulled.
they still lost 5 out of 7 games to them this season...congrats on the playoffs; they played like a team that needed to win just to get in; devils played like a team already in the playoffs who didnt want to risk injury. horrible game.
Too bad the Flyers fans OWN half of your entire pathetic state, LMAO!!!!!

according to flyers history website the flyers are not ahead all time against new jersey, actually the opposite. most teams lead with a star goalie, not two to switch on and off like the flyers having a goalie go cold, it doesnt allow them to get in a rythm. i dont think they need to rebuild the team, just focus on scoring goals. rolston and holik should help.
psuscott0483 3 years ago
Well according to that site, the Flyers are 62-80-15 against the Devils. But according to the Flyers website, they're winning. I don't know if the Flyers history website includes all games since the devils expanded, but oh well....not a big deal. As for the Flyers goaltending...Biron was just getting adjusted to being a no.1, so its expected that your gonna have a goalie go cold, unlike Marty Brodeur. As for getting more scoring, you know Holik is 37, right? Rolston is 35
Crawford1987 3 years ago
peter forsberg was just as old when the flyers had him give or take a year i dont know, and everyone in philly thought he was a god
psuscott0483 3 years ago
Actually Forsberg was 32 when the Flyers signed him, and you can't compare Rolston and Holik to one of the most influential players in NHL history. He was hurt alot, I know, but when he was in his prime and healthy, he was the best in the world.
Crawford1987 3 years ago
in case you didnt catch the game saturday, holik and rolston both scored. devils beat the flyers.
psuscott0483 3 years ago
it was a good game but it's only preseason. The Flyers played well, with Briere getting a goal and 2 assists and Gagne and Richards scoring. Devils got a shorthanded goal, which proved to be the difference, but the preseason is all about gaining chemistry and seeing what works. The Flyers also beat the Devils the previous time 4-1, but again, it's only preseason.

psuscott0483 3 years ago

panthersrock98 3 years ago
yes they made it past two mediocre teams and got to a team in their division and it looked like the pens were playing against a highschool hockey team. ya they beat the devils who were already in the playoffs apr4, devils are still 16-4 against them in the last 20.
psuscott0483 3 years ago

a13productions 3 years ago
thank you
a13productions 3 years ago
ill agree they dont seem strong this year offensively or defensively; however i think consistently they are one of the strong contenders for the east...buffalo was as well except for this year..and the senators also look awful. dont forget the devils came back from a 3-1 deficit against the flyers a few years back and took the cup. we'll see what happens tonight..should be exciting.
psuscott0483 3 years ago
noone cares about a few years back
and i love how broduer's been gettin horrible lately thas y they lost not bcuz they were worried about injury you know it just wont admit it
a13productions 3 years ago
i mentioned a few years back because hawkmeat said about always having trouble coming back from series deficits. its hard to talk about coming back from them without mentioning past years since this is the first series matchup this year since playoffs JUST started. you're a genious.
psuscott0483 3 years ago
NJ is always tough, but the Rangers will fight them tooth and nail. Either NJ or NY will be beat to a pulp in advancing. Brodeur's confidence has been shaken also, when he was pulled in Philly on Friday. NJ is very fragile now and the Flyers are playing a bit more loose than earlier. Flyers will make a push; Devils lose in rnd. 2 and CO may win the cup. Just a prediction. Go Flyers though and NJ is still a tough team....
jcstriper1 3 years ago
but pihlly's better
a13productions 3 years ago
Thanks for the post and reminding these Devils fans that the Flyers have a winning streat agains NJ at one game and Marty still can't believe he was pulled.
jcstriper1 3 years ago
i'm sorry make that 6 out of 8 games they lost to the devils this year...and still 11 in a row at home
psuscott0483 3 years ago
they still lost 5 out of 7 games to them this season...congrats on the playoffs; they played like a team that needed to win just to get in; devils played like a team already in the playoffs who didnt want to risk injury. horrible game.
psuscott0483 3 years ago
