The musical legends Earth, Wind & Fire's Phoenix Horns were a huge dynamic for this tune. They were also Maurice White's secret weapon for making us all dance to POWER!!!!
super mix of EW&F horns and jerry hey and co. on this instrumental epic! steve lukather on heavy guitar from toto! nice strings from david foster who co wrote this!
@TheSkaterKihd I was surprised Phil would say that. He should've heard their music before saying something like that for a jok I don't think many laughed at unless they ain't ever heard Earth, Wind, and Fire before.
SUPER BEATER RIGHT HERE. STILL BEATING THIS IN CHI-TOWN AS WELL, ON THE UNDERGROUND OF COURSE. STATIONS ARE TOO PUSSY TO PLAY ANYTHING GOOD ON RADIO ANYMORE.
There's no mistaking the new age/satanic influence of the group Earth, Wind and Fire. They blatantly flaunt occult symbolism, such as the all-seeing eye of Horus, zodiac signs, pyramids, hexagrams, the Egyptian ankh, and many more on their albums. To show the ultimate blasphemy, they even name one of their albums "I AM" -- a name reserved for God! The album "I AM" has a cross of Christ in the center with an embryo and an old man in the center with a temple in the foreground. HELL YEAH!
@nucleon2009 : EWF are not satanic. They are spiritualist, after the Egyptian Order. If they were satanic why would they make music about love & peace and feeling good. Not about sex, drugs, violence, etc. "I AM" simply means I Am of God. As Jesus says in your bible. "DId I not sat that Ye are gods". In Egyptian religion there is also God & Devil. It also represents the nature of self. The will 2 do good or evil. EWF were deep cats, and only passed of God like energy.Made people smile & have fun
Agreed. Some of these fundies who say stuff like that seem to think that anything that isn't exclusively Christian is satanic. It's a little idea they borrowed, ironically enough and probably in predictable ignorance, from the Zoroastrian Avesta and its duality of Ahuramazda and Ahriman.
Christianity = Jewish prophetic tenets of messianism and compassion + Hellenistic cult of the Rebirth of Osiris through Isis + possible Buddhist notions of universal karma as individual ideal
The distinction between religion and "paganism" are never as clear-cut as latter-day dogmatists claim, because spirituality is a complex personal experience.
We are marching an Earth Wind And Fire show in band and the songs are Rock That/September, Fantasy, And In The Stone and I can't find how they got the music that we are playing out of this.
Man... this song is way too layered. I cant find my part anywhere. I have to play it for marching band which starts next week and i play alto sax. I'm screwed T.T
interested in your progress, friend. How's it going? When you get frustrated, just chill and listen to the original...just let the groove take you away, then try it again. Good luck, you can do it!
EXACT same thing for us. Well, for us, it's Rock That / September as one song, then Fantasy and In The Stone. ^_^ Lotsa fun, yeah.
I personally play bass drum this year, but only because we were down one bass. I should've been playing snare. T_T Took one for the team, you know. It was "I moved down" or "pull in a horn player for the spot and water down the music." So yeah... >.>;
EWF needs to put a Cd out of ALL of their instrumental songs. I used to get hyped up knowing I would hear this after 'Wait' and I still do! I love EWF!
Whoa...player. Wait is the jam but its for those who want to mellow out with a lady. I Am has something for everybody. If you want to groove, get down, or make love.
yes, that is when you play Love's Holiday, You and I (I Am version) for those moments, but Wait makes me blah, its the only sore sight on an otherwise perfect album. Sort of like Girlfriend on MJ's Off the Wall album, and even then Girlfriend is better than Wait
you need to here the alternative version of love's holiday. maurice could sing a ballad. it was columbia that played him out to be the lead to the funk. both he and philip bailey could do both.
Fantastic album of this super group! i have buy it in 1979,greats songs, greats instrumentals parts, simply super thank for post it.Greetings from France.
The horns and bass are just so awesome! Ive been looking for this one a long time never has an EWF song get me pumped up like this does!! Play it loud I agree...thank you so much!!
This is the best of the EWF instumentals. I always like this one. Everybody is playing tough on this track. Listen to that piano and the guitar. Check Verdine's bass walk at 1;23 and 1:31.
O yeah, great you like it! These guys are instrumental geniusses. You should play this one VERY LOUD!!!!! Everything is in perfect harmony. Pounding Rock guitar moving into funky Horns at 2:31...
