  • Tubas sounded a hair sharp at the beginning

  • piccolos always on point!!!

  • Beautiful!!!

  • songs like this are perfect for Fam.cuz they can give yu that power w/out over blowing, yea im adding this to my favorites.

  • lol

  • FAMU is a group that is second to none. I just wish we could have played you guys when I was at Auburn. I would have loved to have gotten to share the same gameday stadium with you guys.

  • YESSS!!! hhorns2002, keep up the posts...i'm fall '98 and i haven't heard the "100" in a WHILE. it takes a little time away to realize how strong we've always sounded. this song just puches you in the mouf!!! LOVE IT!!!

  • So true. The latest FAMU marched the iron cellos was 1997--the end of Dr. Foster's great tenure. Don't know the make of the euphs, but they were indeed iron cellos. As far as I know, they were the last college marching band to use them (unfortunately). I'm not gonna get started on my theory of why the marching baritone/euph does not belong in the marching band.... I'm gonna start a crusade one day lol

  • !!! omg those piccalos!!!

  • yep there my top choice

  • because thats not what our arranger wanted... they played what he wrote.

  • I love that answer!!

  • @hhorns2002 Who arranges for the band?

  • @hhorns2002 true, but it wouldve been epic.

  • ugh loveeee FAMU all the music makes me cry...its so pure and sweet

  • dat shyt is fukin sweet

  • thats some pure ass sound

  • man i wanted to send a big kill yo self out to all those haten on famu. There r not many that can sound that good

  • This is creasing.

  • Amazing how they can take a song with only lyrics and change it to this. No other band could have this song any better.

  • theres a musical version of this song.

  • Yeah, my bad I heard after I saw this.

  • yes great use of theb-tones and low brass really adds anotha layer of sound to the song

  • Absolutely love the baritones with the countermelody. Haven't heard another HBCU band utilize their baritones this well to emulate french horns. It adds a great middle layer that completes FAMUs overall sound.

  • Agreed. But in order for you to hear the btone runs, they had to hold the trumpets and other pieces back a little. That is excellent balance control for such a big a** band.

  • no they didnt...

  • dude them baritones at famu cut through the band always no one has to back down for them lol

  • That may be true if they were still playing on euphoniums like oleskool, but those bell-front instruments provide superior projection :-( I'm among the element that wishes that they never switched to those bell-front instruments. That did change the FAMU timbre and balance.

  • They actually are a marching euphonium section now. Didn't see any marching baritones when I saw them last. GOOD! Not a big fan of the marching euphonium, but I hate the marching baritone.

  • I can actually hear every section, amazing intonation and control

  • I totally agree!!! I'm like WOW, this is so good!!!

  • Wow. Well done class of 2008. Very nice. This reminds me kinda of the 1990's Marching 100, or something like Miami Central when Chip was directing. It has that vintage feel of the 100 to it. Well done. And apparantly the crowd is loving it.

Also, I should note that sometime ago, a horny horn and my frat (hubba P phi H!!) let me know that the french horn sound is crucial to the 100 sound, and this footage is proof of that. Those horns are singing and cutting and really add to the counter meoldy.

  • that was beautiful!!!!!!!!

  • this camera looks old...a better one is on vod

  • Nice Trill. Hubba Piccolos! Hubba 100!

  • BCU does not want any of this this weekend!!!

  • such a big band but a controlled and beautiful sound. really nice

  • listen to those white whales!.....great sound 100..takes me back!

  • The Whales will always be "OH SO SWEET"!!!

  • damn...................dose tubas

  • Hubba Band!!!
