this man...this man is the lucyist basterd i know, in one battle he was shot at and all of them went straight through his coat now-a-days you would just get shot and die...this was the greatest general that ever lived.
@boredlikehell2008 Well the actual show as a lot different then what the ad depicted. The special was really honest in the knowledge side of Washington, even if the visual part of the special was a bit dramatic. It pointed out his numerous military & personal failures such as having to abandon New York and even when the Continental Congress was looking to remove him from his position. Mind you this was before the History Channel became all about crap like Nostradamus & 2012 conspiracies.
@jarod2828 Would it be too much trouble to ask for a few min or it? I'm collecting various DVDs of the four fathers so if this as good as you say then I'd like ot be the judge if that's alright? Its because it was the history channel that I was put off- for the very reasons you mentioned.
@boredlikehell2008 Sorry, I really wish I had the special taped. I just got the ad from something else that I had been taping off the channel. I'm pretty sure the History Channel store has it.
This was a simple ASTOUNDING presentation. The "First Action Hero" concept that they played on was very nice; as I always knew Washington as the Hero of the Revolution, and not the pathetic "First President" title that most people assign to him today.
He wanted to be recognized as a soldier, and I think this film did just that.
I believe that Washington's actions and miracles in battle proves that there is a god, and that his doings were, as Franklin said, governed by God.

@deathknot09 That or the luckiest. The special went into great detail about Washington both his victories and defeats, military and personal.
