Because when this was released in the US, the American Anime was only up to f-ing Baroque Works, where as the Japanese Anime was in the CP-9 Saga. Most American One Piece games are like this.

I believe it's for Game cube(which also makes it available for Wii, because it can play Game cube games.) and the PS2, but I only saw the Game cube version.

I believe Oda hasn't wrote out Lucchi's/Lucci's name in English, there's a meaning to it.

"Lucci's name is based on the Italian word for light, "Luce". If you count Rob as the meaning 'to steal', then his name can be translated to 'steal the light'."

How is the popularity contest a non-official source? Ok, we can't be sure that Oda wrote them, but it appeared next to a One Piece chapter in the magazine One Piece is published, that's enough to take them in account.

That "steal the light" was unintentional as he said in the SBS. Lucci doesn't sound like Luce at all by the way.

You can like it or not, but Rucchi is right now the most official romanization of his name and I'm going with it until another one is given.

Well, that's only because japs can't pronounce L. They pronounce it as eru. So techinically, it's Rob Lucci. Because no matter what, Luffy is not Ruffy (though it is pronounced that way). Hence Lucci is not Rucchi.

As I said, the most official romanization of his name, which is in the last favourite character poll, shows his name as Rucchi, and until we get a better one (like Bon Kure's name in the wanted poster or Arabasta in later maps) the logical thing is sticking with it.

I didn't say that Ryu was Lyu. Anyway, I must be looking at all the wrong sources because most of them say Rucchi is Lucci. Hum. Maybe it's because they're unofficial...Still I'm sticking with Lucci, you can stick with Rucchi. It doesn't complicate things.

@kaothic86 Only some of the R's are L's. Like Light from Deathnote. His name is Light in English but in Japanese (since they cant say Light) they say Righto. So it is like Raito. But it is actually Light. Ryu from Street Fighter is Ryu. So, In English, "Ruffy" is Luffy and "Rob Rucci" Rob Lucci. ^^
