A lot of bribe changes hands. Ranging from the factory inspectors to the ruling party bosses , it could be DMK or ADMK, all are in this vicious cycle of bribery and corruption. Any massive accidents attract attention ,then the politicians clean up their act and put up a noble face before the media. Soon, as everything else, the incidents get forgotten, and back to old ways again. One child's injury or death hardly makes news.Thankfully, lately media has exposed the evil and things are changing.
Child labor, successive governments both DMK and ADMK so-called parties for the welfare of the poor, have hardly been able to stop it or even control it. Far from it, the parties, both DMK and ADMK, are steeped in corruption ,have not been able to even organize the labor and form co-operatives. The corrupt government officials, political parties are hand in glove with the unscrupulous middlemen and the merciless factory owners and alll of them combined to keep the child labor in slavery.
Many young lives are lost every year. Very sad. As long as the demand is there, supply will always catch up attracted by profits. The profits never reach the children or touch their lives in any way. They live the same wretched lives and the huge profits are pocketed by the middle men who sell them in cities like Mumbai, Delhi etc. Why can't they start a co-operative like they have in the case of products like milk and improve the lives of the young ones? The workers should unite. Thanks
very bad...
