  • Wow. This made me smile. I am a diehard RUSH fan, and have always dreamed of being in a RUSH tribute band. I play keyboards. Keep up the great work. I know how incredibly difficult this music is, but that is what makes it soo good. I never miss a RUSH show when they come to town. Awesome. Thank you.

  • Hey you are the best and can give RUSH a back up If needed

  • certainly an interesting setup, but hey to each his own, keep it up man!

  • Awsome!

  • Awesome job man. Definitely the best limelight cover Ive seen.

  • Hey Neil... You've gotta see this...

How about clear acoustic pitch setting or change of any drum head in Real Time? Like timpany, only both batter & reson stay in Perfect Harmony?

...even While Changing Your Pitch to Whatever You Want?

Take a look at my videos... Out - of - this - World!

My hat is off to you, Sir...

    Paul

  • EPIC.

  • PERFECT, CONGRATULATIONS!

  • hello, i am neil peart and that was awesome.

...ok i'm not but that still was awesome.

  • Fukin awesome! You rock!!

  • There's a floating splash on the ride.....

  • Very Nice Man! Curious too though about that tom above the X hat~ tough to hit or is it elevated? Funny how us Rush drummers model our kits after Neil~

  • BRO AWSOME JOB!!!!!

  • awesome job

  • hey that was a great and a flawless drum cover, i enjoyed watching this cover!

  • NO better drummer on the planet..period! YOU know of one better? POST !!!

  • @SirTrews34 Ray Luzier, Gavin Harrison, John Dalmayon, Tony royster jr.

  • @SirTrews34 Not on Earth, Bonzo's in rock heaven now...

  • @SirTrews34 Buddy Rich. I don't even like Buddy, he was a self-centered prick who was very judgmental and merciless, but damn he was good.

  • This is insanely awesome! By FAR, Neil is the BEST drummer on the planet, but this vid of his work|? Excellent! Over and over watched .. find a flaw with this man! Try!

  • Neil? is that you?

  • Dude, that was awesome! :)

  • Nice! Soundin' really great! Keep on drumming!

  • A true Rush drummer only has paragon's and the same shells as peart himself. Awesome man.

  • super talented drummer.

but your set up is wack.

  • Um... packerbacker64... please tell me you're kidding...

  • that's the wrong album limelight is from spirit of radio not moving pictures u should u know that!

  • @packerbacker64 it is originally from moving pictures, the spirit of radio album is a compilation of previous rush hits.............sorry to call you out on that one but i'm a die-hard rush fan, and to see that comment.......well....it angered me slightly

  • Nice job

  • Not bad, you mastered the hanging crash at 1:00 nicely.

  • Great job! Peart would be proud of this cover.

  • Sem dúvida um dos melhores músicos do planeta !!!!

  • WOW AMAZING SIR!!!

  • omg i actually thought he was neil peart for half way through the video.

    great cover man

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • wow

  • Nice job buddy... and you make it look so easy. If Neil gets sick you could fill in no problem!

  • Wow that was great...!!!! Amazing!!!!

  • great song and nice drumming, thanks

  • This is my fav Rush song and Neil Peart is to me the best. You have played this brilliantly and I would just like to say 'well done'!!

  • Wow, man. I'm a guitarist, not a drummer. But our band covers this song. Much respect, dude. You nailed it.

  • how do you mount your camera!!!????

  • What a drum, dude! Impossible to play wrong with that. HAHAHA. Excellent cover. It is very difficult to copy to Neil Peart. Very good.

  • Excellently performed. Almost exactly perfect. I have been using this to practice the song. We've been playing it lately. The unfortunate part is that I would like to see this while I'm drumming, but I can't get any signal in our studio. Anyway, keep up the great work.

    Kenn

  • what drum heads are those?

  • @donnyfox123 Those are the stock DW heads. As far as I'm aware you can buy them, without the drums that is.

  • might those be Zildjian A Custom Rezo cymbals and Promark Niel Peart signature sticks??

  • no creativity, no originality, no passion. I don't understand this army of Neil heads that spends thousands of dollars on equipment to emulate what someone else has already innovated. If you listen to Rush's lyrics their fans are participating in the same effect things they rally against. Nice job with the song, you hit all the notes but what about a video with something original? something YOU came up with?

  • @juddgreg333 I understand what you're saying, but I respectfully disagree. Almost any great drummer learns other drummer's parts note for note; transcribing and reading are important skills for any musician. Still, it's possible to study and emulate a drummer (or any musician) too much - and wind up sounding like someone other than yourself.

  • @AndyVintheD I think we self taught drummers have to rely on learning from emulation. I know I can say I have my own style, we have several original songs, in spite of learning my techniques by watching and copying my heros.

  • @juddgreg333 and there's always those kids that complain about it NOT being exact or "perfect." you just can't win them all so stop acting like he can

  • Holy FUCK ..... watch 5 times amazing skills, WOW:)

  • Excellent cover

  • pretty awesome man. well done

  • MUY BUENO

  • AWESOME JAM!!!!

  • Nice, Very Nice!!

  • pretty god dam good id say nice

  • Well Done!!

  • brilliant!

  • Good job, I never heard those sticks touch each other once!

  • OMG!! Ray you are SICK!! I had to watch this video about a dozen times and still cant get enough of it. where can I get some of that skill. Rock on bro.

  • awesome,.simply awesome Ray

  • I really enjoyed jammin and wathcin u play!!! Can U do that with Ronnie James Dio's "Stand Up And Shout' from the "Holy Diver" album. That jam has always been a little fast for me to keep up. Let me know if U do /,,/

  • Nice job man. I like the camera angle because I was going to play with my setup to see how it would feel. But after watching ... I see how it would place limits on my style. Post more vids.

  • keep your pinky fingers in when you play. bad etiquette bro.

  • How do you hit that tom on the left of the hi-hat?

  • @fcweddington Good point.

  • @fcweddington with a stick

  • @fcweddington very carefully.

  • @fcweddington he hits it at the very end, thats how he does :P

  • @fcweddington dude you ripp' i play but ill never be this rippin Fucker'' your amazing

  • Im Impressed!!!! good job!!!! talented drummer you are sir.

  • @fcweddington you hit it with a drum stick

  • Unbelievable !

I'd bet Peart has commented on Ray's video's.

    He just uses an alias.

There is no way he could "RESIST"

    @ least that's what I think . . . .

    Great work,as always RAY.

    The pleasure is all mine.

  • @HesTNTonPMS whatever Neil Peart!!! I know thats you!!! stop suggesting that so that people don't think it's you... I KNOW IT'S YOU...

  • @HesTNTonPMS are YOUUUU neal pert? haha

  • Ray all I can say is PHENOMINAL!!!! I wonder if peart is wondering if he'll have a job after geddy and alex hear you!

  • Nice Job. i'd love to hear this with your kit close miced. Still good playing

  • very well done man. he has been my musical idol since I was 12. Im now 40. I havent played in years. your video makes me want to invest in another kit and get back to grinding it out. amazing job!!!!

  • @maybelooking lol im 53 now playin from when I was 12. makes me want to play, I still have a big set stoped playin after my wife passed. Looking to sell it now. peace

  • @MrAnonymous2012 Sorry to hear about your wife....You should play again man!

  • @MrAnonymous2012 Sorry to hear that brother. But should you stop after so long?. Remember the tragedys Neil went through and the whole band was like WTF. Yet after some healing he picked up the sticks again. Hold on to them, heal up emotionally, physically and spiritually. Sometimes playing music can be a great healer for the soul. After all those years your wife had to listen to you banging and now she has passed you stop. Brother shes gonna be so disappointed.

    Peace

  • @nobodysfool454 seeing as this vid has 60,000 views, I think someone does give a shit...

  • Comment removed

  • @nobodysfool454 ooh that's mature. you're an adult, and you go bashing someone showing their passion online who just wants to show how much he appreciates his idol? I watched this because I appreciate what he does, what's your excuse?

  • fuckin badass well done!

  • Perfect. Every little detail, the rises and lows of the song, masterfully done.

    You rock dude!

  • What Kind of Heads are those????

  • f**k yeah!!!

  • Nicely done. Very clean. Going to see Peart in October!!

  • will u ever be making more videos?

  • That was awesome!

  • Great job. I play for a Rush cover band and love it when someone puts in the time to learn the songs correctly.

  • you are Neil Peart.

  • The thing with paragon's is that is neil's sound, only neil can make them sound good, because to him they are the ultimate cymbals

  • it sounds like there's some unnecessary ringing coming from the snare, are the heads new/tuned up properly? you could do well by using a ring too, tighten up the sound.

  • GREAT JOB Ray.... I give you a SOLID 10.0!

  • great job!! check out Crossroads by Paul Reid

  • Hi Ray!! You nailed it :D

  • You "F" ing rock!!
