The most important thing, above all else, for the Lennon devotees, is for all Beatle inovation to be attributed to Lennon, and Lennon alone. None of the others existed except Him. To these idiots, Yoko was more important than Paul, George,or Ringo.
I love George's shouty voice in this at the end. He was really feeling it. Would have been nice if this progressed past rehearsal and a serious take was done. Alas it wasn't to be.
@starcraft108 exactly! the beatles loved dylans music. george did qite a lot of stuff with dylan; like recording with him and even starting a band with him
dylan wrote the words and music to this song himself. the one he co wrote with richard manual is "tears of rage" dylan wrote the words, manual wrote the music.
Yeh. Lennon on lead guitar. Georeg spent the previous few monts with Dylan in the states so probably learnt this song there. He must have been showed everyone the chords and they just jammed along
I think this jam later evilved into "Sun King" that made it on to Abbey Road - , I guess that happens quite often: goofing along over one known song leads to a new, own song.
@awaggenspack : I think it's John. It is very sloppy for George, and it doesn't have any of the trills or note bends, holds, or slaps that Harrison was doing at this time (you can hear them on Harrison's actual Let it Be tracks and the leslie - guitar tracks he does on the various jams.
@MrAngemystere George had several different playing styles though, like any great lead guitarist, and very rarely used trills or slaps. It is definitely sloppy for him, compared to a polished final studio take, but he was singing and goofing around. I also can't picture George letting John take the lead on a Dylan song.
@MrAngemystere, I respectfully disagree. By the late period, Harrison used both trills (Polythene Pam, The End, etc.), slaps (One After 909), and he used bends throughout his career (I Wanna Hold Your Hand to his last recorded Beatle solo, Let it Be). The lead is John.
Another 40+ year Beatles fan here. Anyone who's seen the movie "Let It Be" should have no question that this is, in fact, The Beatles. It totally sounds like all of the other rehearsal material from that movie. (BTW, I highly recommend checking the movie out if you're a Beatles fan... widely available as a bootleg DVD) Also, if you listen to, say "Don't Let Me Down", the vocal and chord voicings are very simlar
The sound is similar to some of the songs on Let It Be.

It definitely is the Beatles, this is just some rehearsal warm up jamming from the Get Back sessions.

It's definitely George on lead vocal.

What convinces me is the very last riff at the end of the song, it just sounds like the beatles.

it's lennon in lead guitar, isn't it?
Gnomitolindo 2 years ago
good question but it's too difficult to say. it is a little sloppy for george, but it could well be either one.

St George was trying to bring some righteous Bob Dylan vibe amongst the nasty Beatle boys...
and in the end the highs you take is equal to the cranky hang-overs you make...
