I've always loved this piece. The first three minutes are great. A recreation of the scene in the opera where Don Giovanni is warned that his care-free laughter will be short-lived and retribution by the ghosts of those who died by his hand will be coming before the night is done.

This guy is definitely one of the best technicians of his generation, but an incomplete musician. Can't help admiring his technique though, flawless.

Young Shen lives in Chengdu.

This December, Lang Lang is going all the way there, out of a very tight performing schedule, to perform at the concert hall in that city. Methinks he goes there for the sake of meeting Shen, whom he has acknowledged to be a pianist with top notch pyrotechniques.

i find it funny how this guy is basically trying to imitate lang lang--all the extra passages in the middle and stuff, even some phrasings and styles. too bad cziffra didn't record this

It's about the person's taste, really. I prefer Lang Lang's interpretation, but not saying that Wen-Yu is a bad interpreter.

I find this pianist to have no middle ground. He's either stiff, or, at the other extreme, is excessive in his use of rubato. Great technician, though!

DYL means Dong Hyek Lim, we were not talking about yundi li. And I think Shen Wenyu and LangLang are most talented chinese although they are quite different

What an excellant performance...simply amazing. And hes really small too..anyone know the age? Tempo is nearly the same as the ones chosen by lang lang, though, but definately much much cleaner. definatately better than lang langs carnegie hall performance.
