This was an idea co-opted by Nike that was originally produced by the Institute for Applied Autonomy. The original art piece is called Street Writer.

@peterflat This is correct. The Institute for Applied Autonomy created the GraffitiWriter (a smaller version) and the StreetWriter which is the one was was copied by Nike. Anyone can check this on the website of the IAA.
