@henkvandervelden same way as just sitting still. I would make sure that you have a good sturdy tripod/cameraman though, and make sure that both recordings have continuity. Also, the lighting needs to be the same all over. If you have any shadows on certain parts of the green screen it can ruin the effect while trying to edit it.

@haileyandkendallpro haha well i made this two years ago so there's probably much better software out there. this cost $120 dollars at best buy in 2009. the program is a bit glitchy from time to time so i would do some research on other/newer software before investing your money in this.
note to anyone who wants to make good green screen effects: it's all about the lighting in the room. shadows like to mess up the effect.

like only show my feet walking? its possible but i think i would need just green cloth to wrap around my legs because if i used only the green screen material i have now, then the shadows (poor lighting in my house :P) might alter the effect. if i find the time i will try it out :) nice idea.
Something like that was done at South Dakota State University in the 1990s, when we had a Russian language course for high school students. It was on satellite TV, for students in three cities. During one lesson, while talking about Ivan IV, the teacher stood in front of a green screen and wrapped the scarf around herself so that only her head was visible.
