You don't have to put an apostrophe ( ' ) before an s unless you are showing possessive/ownership property of that word. For example: "Two guys named Harold and Kumar..." There is no apostrophe ( ' ) before the s in guys. You would need an apostrophe in this example: "Harold smoked all of Kumar's marijuana." There is an apostrophe before the s in Kumar's because Kumar owns the marijuana.
