Well Greyz, the answers are right in front of you. You have to be careful with what you burn, I agree, but it would be better if they told you earlier, not being such a buzzkill. burning things is fun though...(:
That's incorrect. I was construction manager for this year's dragon and we weren't allowed to burn it because of a NY State law passed in May 2009 that says that you may only burn raw agricultural materials and unprocessed wood. We tried as hard as we could. Take it up with the Department of Environmental Conservation.
Last year the excuse the university gave was a new NYS law that prohibits burning non-organic materials (plastic, paint, etc) though this year it seemed that it was more the university holding them back - so don't know if the law in 2009 was a fib or what - extremely anticlimactic this year. I've had bigger fires on the beach with friends ;)
