  • i hate basin wrenches... its much easier half the time to just pull the sink to replace a faucet

  • what did you do to your hand? was this the second take after you injured yourself? Great comedy though, made me laugh - should do stand up.

  • @lemario1976 I do professional cage fighting on the weekends. The other guy was still in the hospital as I was shooting the video.

  • Hi Tim I was reading your article about Mold its called "Black Mold", Barbara was asking you a question. It sounded like you wore saying that Mold is nothing serious, I wish it wasent but it is vary serious, this video might be of interest to you.

    watch?v=hRSB8WEC8y8

After watching this video I am now terrified of this stuff, it can actually give you lung disease

  • I watched that video. There are tens of thousands of homes with mold. I've taken classes taught by mold scientists. Rarely will common molds be a health threat UNLESS you happen to be highly sensitive to THAT mold.

There are indeed bad molds. If you have a huge outbreak, then maybe a pro needs to be called in. Go to the EPA's website. They have precise mold-removal guidelines there telling you how much is bad.

  • well the thing about mold is that you are lucky if you can see it in your house or smell it. Then you can do something about it. It wasn't the case in the family in that video, it was spreading inside walls from there new addition all over the house, and they lived with it for 5 years. That house now is a total loss, no way of fixing it.

Doesn't all mold spread? If so then tens of thousands of homes out there will be a total loss too.

  • Before you go any further with this, go to my website and type Mold in my search engine. Read all the columns there about mold. That will help you get a better understanding of what's going on.

  • I already have read a lot of them, were am I going wrong? Is it that I said "the mold spreads", or is it that its a lot of times not visible? I know tens of thousands of homes will not be a total loss, but some will be a total loss, and if you ask me I would not want to live in any of them. This mold thing is a lot more serious then people realize, there are so many people posting on the Net about how they are treated for mold related illness and the media doesn't give it the attention it needs

  • Mold is all over the media. The public is aware. Many of us are doing all we can. If you feel there needs to be more awareness, I suggest you direct all the passion you have into your own YouTube Mold channel. Is that name available? Go get it. Or MoldLady, or MoldTips. Take your passion and educate where you think more needs to be said.

  • MoldLady? Do you think I'm a woman or are you just trying to be an ass. I don't mean to be hostile but you're just showing here that you don't give a care about people interacting and talk about different issues, you just give brief vague comments just to get us off your back so you can go off and count your money which without it you wouldn't even bother making any videos

  • I wasn't trying to be rude. I went to your channel and you're an Invisible. That's what we call you. I saw a video of a baby there. I figured a mom would post that. You're faceless. And as for the rest of your comment, I've been overly helpful to you. Tell all of us what *you* have contributed to the ecosystem here at YouTube. I've invested thousands of hours. Why aren't there videos at your channel sharing all of your knowledge? Your comment above tells all who you're thinking of 24/7/365.

  • thank you

  • Great advice again Tim, I did general remodeling for a while and I always put together as much as I could before finally sitting the Sink back down on the counter top.

of course I did have a lot of trial and error before I finally figured it out hahahaha, but I love building and remodeling and it was fun the entire way.

  • Talking to someone with no plumbing experience here :) I have a plumber friend who will do it for probably $50 + cost of the faucet (we have a cheapo that drips) but it would be better to save that money doing it myself and gaining the experience.

  • You better call your plumber friend or watch more of my videos. I have several about drain pipes and other plumbing tips. If you don't have the right tools, you will get into deep trouble quickly.

  • Great advice but no help if you have to replace the faucet and you have a garbage disposal and drainage pipes in the way to boot :-D

  • Well, just get those pesky things out of the way.... :->

  • I think you forgot to attach the supplys lines to, Hum the farrie's gonna do it? what about the disposal? Like don't lay down later, or forget the caulking in the zink,or sink however! you sell you labor cheap here, cause you do cheap work, the out come is you pay the owner, and he fixe's your hand, Ever heard of oakum, horse hair, They do seal a joint,Howabout PVC to make Castiron joint, It's still needed, Oh! Overhead Cast Iron Joint,Explain, forget it, It's a art 2day,

    try Galv soldering

  • So it seems you know a thing or two about plumbing. I went to you channel and it's a vacuum there. Why don't you funnel all of your passion about the topic into your own videos. Show us what you know instead of typing comments.

  • What happen to your hand?

  • Read all the comments.....

  • I liked the music.

  • How do you install a faucet in a sealed vinyl plastic used food grade rain barrel? I've read and watched video's on how to install one on an open barrel, but not a sealed one. Thanks for your help.

  • Drill the necessary holes and use a sealant.

  • Two quick questions: Is Tim the one responding to the comments? And How did you/Tim hurt your/his hand?

  • It is indeed I. I believe farther up or down in the comments I answer question #2 of yours. Always read all the comments before you ask a question.

  • cage fight....

i was roofing, and the same thing happened to me. No broken bones, but there was a big purple blister, so, i quit for a while, and lanced the blister, which helped alleviate the pain. Probably would've been wise to invest in an air nailer.

  • Settle down.... :-> More videos are in the works. In fact, soon there will be a tsunami of new AsktheBuilder videos.

  • Show me how to build a potato gun!

  • You need to go to the PotatoGunGuy channel.

  • GREAT tip to share. It's so damn simple, but it took me a few sink installations before I realized how much easier it could actually be. A lot of people will be thankful they came across this video, I'm sure.

  • Hehe, "Commander", good one!

I didn't mean to seem hostile in fact Your videos are very informative for instance i've been informed that people can't do simple jobs like installing a faucet. Don't worry the Commander will still be subscribed.

  • Many thanks! I was confused by your comment.

  • If someone does not know how to do this simple task especially with the installation instructions come with the faucet, then they are completely aphasic. Try installing a solar system, smart technology, backup generator and hydroradiant heat then call me.

  • Commander, take a Valium..... Relax...... Always keep in mind that there are things that would confound you in about ten seconds. None of us here on the planet are all-knowing.

  • wow, thanks for that

we've been remodeling our house and you tips help a lot.

  • Wow Tim, what did you do to your thumb?

  • Many do not know this but I do cage fighting on the weekends. The other guy was still in the hospital. Actually it is an old injury that I aggravate from time to time.

  • Oh yea, didn't you have something in a video where you smashed the part where your thumb meets your hand with a hammer?

  • That is how it happened. Hammer glanced off the head of the nail.

  • so I did guess it right ;-) ..

  • LOL i just did this about 3 days ago. Yes this is a very good tip. It'll save alot of aches and pains for some people.

  • Nice tip.

  • thanx tim for the tip, although it is very logical but sometimes you just don't figure it out till after you've installed the sink. I hope your thumb gets well soon.. becareful next time you are hammering a nail :o)

  • If I would just stop cage fighting it would get better. But it is so much fun inside the chain link! :->

  • Great video! Wish we had seen this video before we put in our new stainless steel sink last year!

  • Thanks! Many more videos will be coming shortly. I am moving soon to a place where we are building a small set! Woo Hoo!!!

  • Been there, done that several times. lol. Ive gotten to a point where I don't really have to crawl into the cabinets anymore. I have a basin wrench but its quite hard to use.

  • Tim, this video is going to save people some serious aggravation! Great video.

  • Years ago I tried to remove a full-sized sink. It was insane trying to get the tool up in the narrow spaces on the front and sides of the cabinet.

  • lol sounded like you blew a gasket at 2:05

  • Hahahahaha ! How funny ! But also, how true ! It has happened to me, the very same situation ! Thank you very much, Tim, for this video, and for all your very educational videos. A big hello from Athens, Greece.
