By style, and timing in history, GD was an alternative, grunge band. More in common with Nirvana than any punks. Nirvana had more true punk influence than GD. Grunge was wide open, just like punk included bands from XTC to Siouxsie to Killing Joke. I just dont know how BIlly Assfuck looks in the mirror and thinks "i'm a punk rocker'.
