  • Anyone think the theme song sounds a bit like Pirates of the Caribbean??

  • how do you get this for a mac?

  • @T1TANclan I'm assuming he's running it via BootCamp. It's Mac's version of a Windows emulator. So basically he has Windows running on the mac with Elder Scrolls running on Windows.

  • how do u get it? i mean how do i download and play it on mac?

  • how do u get it?

  • How did you got it on mac?

  • @BlauesKatzenAuge Mac computers can run windows and the Macintosh OS

  • @rustyjoxz540 But pc is better for gaming

  • What does the yellow number on the top left represent?

  • @agraniteman1 Frames Per Second

  • Oblivion is the best game ever

  • @iStudioBlinkx Until Skyrim

  • @iStudioBlinkx until skyrim comes out

  • Where can i get it ?

  • Hey im soon getting Mac and I havent make a choice yet I can get a Imac 17 or Macbook pro 13.... what should i choose

  • @Clankl33t imac 17 i have both

  • @Clankl33t Well will you just be going anywhere or will it just be a at home thing?

Macbook Pros are good for around and about and have 4-6 hours depending on what your doing.

Imacs are good for at home crap

  • There are Cider hacks around the web which run Oblivion great in OSX... no Windows needed, and there has been for over a year.

  • @TheRealdoh123 Can you gimme a link?

  • @Bbgood299

cant put links in comments... but..

Best to find these types of things on the forums at portingteam com .... there are wrappers for hundreds of games available.

  • is there an actual mac version or is this bootcamp

  • can u tell me where to download this? i downloaded it but it just gives me a black screen, the part where you pick continue, new, options, which is the main screen, the screens load up perfectly but i cant get the character to show, when i create my character on it, it just shows me the editing bored for my hair ETC, but i cant see my character cause of a black screen! HELP!

  • @moondahhhhh I'm having the same problem currently. im on osx 10.6.2. I think if you upgrade to .3 or .4 it will make the difference.... according to other info I've gathered.... But I aint no comp wizz so no promises... :)

  • @moondahhhhh it may be your settings. i had a similar thing. unfortunately i had to reduce settings to low or very low on the options screen. very sad. but that's what i get for running the game on a laptop.

  • Is this running natively without bootcamp?

  • @katon95 No it can only be run right now on Bootcamp or a Virtual Machine.

  • @TheNewKidsFilms Cider?

  • @Blinkwing Nope, the FPS counter in the upper left corner is most likely Fraps, which is a Windows application, thus, he's most likely running the game in Windows :p (Plus, he even says he's running Windows in the description)

  • @AarinHikaKao its funny, as i bought oblivion last year and played through it, all after i posted this comment ;D

  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M

with 2.26 GHz processor good enough? im really not sure is that good enough or bad

  • @FandangoMyMango 2.26 GHz is just about as much as you can ever hope for in any laptop, and it looks like your Graphics card checks out. My system is flipped-- I have a Dell Inspiron 5150, which has a 3.06 GHz processor, but only 32 MB grahics. It's really old, really big, really heavy, really loud, and if it runs for more than 20 mins, REALLY HOT. I don't recommend it for gaming. But if you run a business, it rocks. :3

  • Odd sound in 2:53

  • if it works this well on a macbook would it work as well on a Mac Mini with Boot Camp?

  • Probably not. MacBooks are a lot faster.

  • If you have at least a 2.4 gigahertz processor and at least a 256 meg graphics card, than yes. It's not the macbook that matters, it's the hardware. :)

  • thanks for the info, we're getting a new mac soon anyway because the Mini doesn't have much space on it so I'll keep an eye out for ones with those specifications :)

  • Click on me to see it on a white macbook. Its laggy only because the screen program made it lag.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot to add that its running natively :D

  • Without Bootcamp or Crossover....

  • sorry its not possible. but if you kow someone w/ snowleopard then you dont have to pay for it. just the $50 for bootcamp. then get free windows 7 via google search and you are set

  • @7en6estu I clicked on you, but there was no video. You were lying, criminal scum. Pay your fine, or pay with your blood!

  • i like the music in oblivion

  • Is it hard to install windows and how big space does it take? Please responde I'll maybe get a iMac soon!

Btw does all games works then??

  • this is a great video -- hopefully i'm getting windows 7 today, and i plan on installing it to my macbook pro via boot camp assistant. I LOVE Oblivion, and i own it for my xbox, but I truly desire the portability of a computer -- so i'm excited!

Because of mods, (which i need to download onto my Windows 7 file system i think) i just wanna make sure i have good security. does anyone know if windows 7 is good enough by itself??

  • is it hard to control with the mouse pad?

  • iv had my copy of oblivion for 2 years never played it once im getin a mac soon how do you use oblivion on it? pls respond some one im desprate

  • You have to install windows in bootcamp modus to play oblivion on your mac.

  • AVG FPS: 25-30

During fighting, it lowered to around 20.

  • install windows on your macbook

download windows 7 beta free legally

or torrent it i dont give a fuck

    this might help you?

  • please. please help me. i would love to play this game. i payed 20 bucks for the GOTY edition and i thought that was a great deal for such a great game. i am so desperate right now. and this is a question for anyone aside from kamikazeX1.

and please. respect my needing. no stupid answers like... get PC. prob fixed.

i love macs and i would hate to have to do something i usually wouldn't to enjoy a great PC game.

    thank you!

    -S

  • sorry dude you will have to install windows or maybe find i a program to emulate it but then its hard to run

  • Just pirate or buy a copy of Windows XP or Windows 7 and install it on your Mac using Boot Camp, then run the game through your Windows partition. There are literally thousands of step-by-step guides on how to do this.

  • then. when i try to go to the options under video options. and try to change those. some of the options are transparent. so i can choose them. how i want them or anything. completely inaccessible. the character you can see. but it's so hard to actually visualize it beyond the dullness of the picture. it's ridiculous. finally when i choose the character. the screen is just the same. fps laggs. from the end of the prison cell to the front of the cell takes me 10 secs. instead of around 2. or 3.

  • dude. i am so frustrated right now. i'm going to try to say this as easily as possible. i have windows xp sp3 on my macbook (white, 2008) and the specs are the damn near same as yours. 2.4 ghz. everything. i installed my TES4:O (GOTY) and when i open it. the intro starts great. btw, i use parallels with this open. and when it gets to the part where i choose my character. big WTF. the screen looks like it has brightness on MAX and the mouse/pointer starts lagging all of a sudden.

  • that was awesome :]

  • just buy a PC for games and a mac for everything else.

  • Hey peeps, This question is directed at KamikazeX1 but anyone can answer it... is boot camp as crashy and laggy as everyone seems to make it out to be?

    thanks, pwnator

  • Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

  • looks even better than when on vista

  • wtf wy dont i hav boot camp and i have mac osx 10.4.10

  • you need leopard.

  • u can still download it from apples website)

  • does it cost money?

  • no its free) but i guess u still need leopard for it to run

  • can you still use cheats with ~ when playing oblivion on a mac

  • yep

  • Don't the macbook pros now come with bootcamp already on them?

  • yess)

  • my god...it does work on macs...

  • how do u put windows into macbook plz someone tell me????????

  • Google BootCamp OSX or VMWare Fusion

  • what is better using bootcamp or a program like cider or darwine?

  • I use BootCamp to play my Steam games, and it works flawlessly, Just make sure you install all the drivers that came with the Mac (the OS install DVD) so you can get the most out of the hardware.

  • Im saving up for a macbook, if i put windows on it will i be able to play my oblivion i just bought on it.

  • yup via bootcamp, vmware doesn't use the hardware as well..

  • vm ware sucks dick for this it crashes all the time

  • Comment removed

  • How would this run on a 2GHz Intel, 4GB ram and an ATI 3470?

  • if TES sucks then why are you watching a gameplay video of it? Stupid!

  • Just to assure myself once again that TES sucks and to leave an annoying comment.

  • You suck. I rule

    jk

  • ive just bought a macbook pro 15" and i want to know if oblivion will run straight away, like stock standard, if yes.. awesome.. if not, what do i do?

    can this be done??

  • ok ANYONE PLEAEE HELP ME!!! i have a macbook pro and when i try to install oblivion it just comes up with this gay ass fucking shit saying like "windows media cant play" and just wont install on anyprogram!!! please somone tell me what to dooo!!

  • Comment removed

  • do anyone think this game will run not good but ok on a 2.2Ghz 128mb 4gb ram macbook pro?

  • I got a macbook pro same spec as yours as well as a 24" imac but I get really paranoid about heat. Seeing as all the parts are quite compressed into a smallish case they tend to heat up quite alot, so I get worried about what heat levels are safe to play at. That goes for my imac and macbook pro, can anyone elighten me?

  • how about framerate if you turn off HDR?

  • can oblivion worck on my mac book i relly whant to play it, well i have played on my 360 iv betin game like 5 times but the game got lost for a little while then we i found it it was unable to read, so if u can tell me as soon as possible and iv heard stuff about something called boot camp or something , what is boot camp what dose it do and if it can alow me to play oblivion on my macbook then how do i get it , please i relly wanna play on macbook but mostly every game is for windows,W.O.W work

  • o and i have VMfushan witch alaws me to open a windows page and stuff so i have a mac and windows in one sorta but i have to log in and do lots of stuff to get it going so i... i dont know what to do

  • Oblivion can work on your mac, but most likely not with an virtual machine like parallels or VM fusion ware. I'm not an expert, but from my understanding you'll need boot camp if you want to run oblivion smoothly. The difference is that boot camp runs Windows natively, and is as close to having a PC as you'll get, but the downside is that you have to reboot every time you want to switch your OS. You'll need leopard in order to use boot camp, and a windows XP disc. Peace, hope this helped.

  • can this game run on iMac?? im about to buy so please tell immediately

  • With Boot Camp, sure, if it's relatively new.

  • oblivion runs perfectly with high settings on my iMac

  • lovely !

  • I have tried installing this on Win XP in Bootcamp - but I can't get the game to run - it crashes on starting ... it gives me a rendering error - any idea how to fix this? Did you have any issues whatsoever?

    I am running:

MacBook Pro, 2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram, GeForce 8600M GT

Please help me out or $60 is gone :(

  • hey i got an HP laptop with these specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz,

    3 GB RAM,

Ge Force 9600 with 512 MB dedicated memory,

    Full HD resolution,

on which settings will game run,and how well???

  • Is it 9600 GS or GT?

    Anyway, probably high settings.

  • I think it'll run on highest. Without problems.

  • Hey, I have a macbook not a pro, does oblivion run on macbook?

  • it may.....but you might have to make some upgrades

  • Will it work on The newest iMac?

  • Very easily, especially if you get the 24"!

  • how da hell u get oblivion on mac??

  • you need to use a program called "Bootcamp" this comes standard with leopard but if you have tiger you are going to have to download it from the apple website....once you have "bootcamp" you can install windows onto your mac and then you should be able to play it..

  • Will it run White macbook intelX3100...??

    any body know???

  • try oldblivion

  • how much of a partition should i give bootcamp. i plan to play this plus a couple of other games.

  • Depends on the amount of games.

And whether you use Windows Vista or XP.

I'm guessing 20 GB minimum depending on the amount of games you plan to install. Oblivion is ~4GBs. XP I'd say ~2-4GBs and Vista I'm not quite sure.

  • haha..i thought i would have gotten a response within a few days or something. anyway, i had partitioned bootcamp to 40 gig just to be certain i wouldn't run out of room.

  • BTW, the OS doesn't make a difference to the ammount of data that is installed.

  • Okay people, I really want to do this. I want Oblivion on my MacBook Pro!!! What do i need to do to achieve this!!! Help me out somebody!

  • Install XP using Bootcamp, it will creat an automatic partition for you and when you start up the macbook hold down the option button to choose the OS. Simple really holds your hand for you whilst going through. Then just adjust the settings for the FPS etc until you are happy

  • or windows vista

  • You might want to upgrade your RAM as well.

  • nice. I just got this laptop, except mine has 250 GB hard drive instead. This looks just as good as my 360! does this require a load of cleaning out, and does it slow down the Macbook pro?

  • guys im really in a tough decision.i wanna do work and gaming as well. but like people say that macbook is better and which one there are like 3 types of macbooks.2.1,2.4,and 2.4 black all on different rams and stuff....and i heard that MBP is somehow slower..

  • did george bush tell u that?

  • I am really looking to get a 15" Macbook pro hopefully soon. I must say though, why are you getting so excited when a $2,000 system is playing Oblivion? An Xbox 360 play Oblivion amazingly.

  • I just can't understand Win PC's users complaining about mac users.

If you do not like Macs, good for you, very interesting, your problem, No one is telling you to buy a one million dolar mac.

Leave Mac community alone. If we have Macs instead of win pcs, we know why. And of course it is not because of the games LoL.

We already know the cons and pros. So, if you are trying to be useful telling us that macs sux and are not worth, Thanks for the info, and go enjoy ur pc.

  • As I've said before, Im not a fanboy of either brand, I have a pc and I'm getting a mac laptop, but that my friend is a two edge sword. I've seen Windows people go after macs, and I've seen Mac people go after Windows.

  • Wow, I don't ususally reply to comments on youtube, but I have to say something. I'm so glad not everyone in the youtube communtity is prick. I like Macs, and even I am sick of Mac fanboys. So thank you.

  • I absolutely agree with you. It's all bigotry. If you like a computer, use it. I mean, I use Mac, Windows, and Linux

(Debian), but you don't see me being overzealous about them.

  • @Enlazador9 i wish i had a mac biut dad forced me to get pc damn himmmmm

  • How do you change the AF, I have never found that option and what does it stand for? Also I do not think it is possible to be Anti Aliasing while you have HDR on.

  • can oblivion work on a laptop i have asus x53sr reply soon

  • can i ask a question are ps3 graphics same as pc (im not sayin ps3 sucks im just askin are the the same ok people)

  • Oblivion is best on 360, but good computers can run this easily. PS3 graphics are locked, so you can't change the view distance (objects are noticeably generated.) I haven't played on 360, but I hear it's the best. Plus 360 has a better graphics card than the PS3 in general.

In short, PC/Mac graphics will always be better, unless it's an old PC/Mac. PS3/360 is cheaper though.

  • i use the new mac with oblivion, running the full version of bootcamp from mac os leopard. its like.. perfect graphics, better then any oblivion running on pcs. so pc is not always the best for gaming. especially with the amazing mac graphic cards.

  • are you a little bit special?

  • that makes no sense, oh yeah if i think i understand what ur saying, im just making a point, that i was about to spend like 4000$ on a gaming computer, since i used mac anyways, this worked out better. so im not special, im trying to tell people that it runs awesome on mac.

  • sorry but everything you said was nonsense. You are running oblivion on a pc, a mac is a pc. It just runs a different os (like solaris unix or linux) and since you are running bootcamp it isnt even doing that. So saying its better than running on a pc is rubbish not to mention there is no mac thats as good for gaming as a custom built pc.

think a little before you type it stops the internet being filled with crap information.

    Peace

    Brian

  • um.. custom built pcs are good yes, but getting a mac (oh by the way alot of people refer microsoft as pc. If you want to spend tons of money to play games good. But having a mac with gaming is also good in different ways (including more features work, gaming, anything) with pure gaming computers, usually you only want game things, so nothing will slow down games. I never said mac was better then any custom.

  • i know, what you dont seem to understand is that macs are not any better than any pc if you are running a game on a mac using windows its just as good it is running a game on a pc because you are infact running on pc hardware using windows....theres no difference to running on a toshiba similar spec laptop.

  • ok. but the macs have good graphics cards, which you would find in reg. laptops. bootcamp has specific updates that enable the graphics card usage on the windows side, that way you can run any windows game. and my point is that normal computers (something i never knew before i was a little knowledgeable of computers) cant run games, but macs can run particularly nicely on a mac, without customization.

  • oh and try and find a laptop worth the same amout that doesnt have the same or better gfx card.

  • everything is awesome but gfx ;)

  • i agree thats why i just spent near 2000 GBP on a MBP they are awsome.

  • You mean wasted

you mean you WASTED 2000GBP not spent.

  • Oh wait sorry its you lol.

    Thought it was some dork.

Anyway im not a fan of macbooks since they cant run a lot (if not any) program, but if you plan to game than its fine

  • i agree i bought it for mobile work as im a music producer and its a more stable platform for that then windows. But i agree if i didnt do that i would not even concider them especially at that price.

    Peace

    Brian

  • Oh yeah and please dont insult me by saying i am posting trash, it is my opinion, and please respect that. But thank you because you have also made me more knowledgeable of computers.

  • I am not trying to insult you just trying to inform you that its bollocks. Normal computers CAN run games properly. The 8600gt is a average consumer gfx card its in most of the laptops i test. it is not a great graphics card it is average ie normal.

as such make all average computers run games as well if not better as the non notebook version is actually of a higher spec than the notebook version.

    Peace

    Brian

  • be cool you you got it running on linux this aint impressive

  • I just run it on full without grass.. much easier :)

And you can see ingredients much more easily :P

  • Yeah. But all realism dissapear.

  • yeaa, i can run it on full, (Sager NP5792, 2.5 GHz Penryn, 8700M GT, 1 GB RAM) but its gets stuttery outside because of my RAM, its not able to load it fast enough :P im getting some at the end of this week, btw, i run it at 1680x1050 no AA

  • 15 macpro cant wait/. The end of this week

  • Did you buy the ones with the penryn processor?

  • they had already ordered me a macbook then I changed my order and by the time I was all said and done, they had just announced the penryn processers and It is on the way now.

Should be next week. Can't wait.

  • What Program Did he use

    Please reply

    ASAP

  • It says right in the info window that he used Bootcamp 1.3...:P

  • 13?:P

  • hey is there a big difference if i took the macbook pro with 2go DDR2 RAM???

  • he´s running fraps in the corner to show fps it doesnt lagg when having the fps capturer in the corner... so that's why retard...

  • omg this is so sexy and u put grat graphics O_O 5stars!

  • i soooo wanna pro...my macbook crashes often when running oblivion using oldblivion =[

  • wheres the ring of night eye?

  • wtf... LOL!!!! bloom makes the most difference in oblivion retard

  • you should use fraps for this kind of stuff, it tapes what ever is on your screen so you don't have to use a video recorder with crappy resolution to capture this kind of stuff.

  • for the last time it lags.

  • Can someone please tell me how this guy is running Windows on his Mac? Plz reply :)

  • there us a program that runs windows along side osx on a mac called latteral i beileve, allowing a mac user to use Windows, if you don't have a fast enough computer though it will lag often.
