Actually Drumline was based on Dallas Austin and his experience in Alabama States' Marching Hornet Band. However, the A&T band in the movie was made up of Marching 100 band members and Southwest Dekalb High School band members. Whose band director was a trumpet player and drum major in the Incomparable Marching '100'.

It's really fun tho. I'm part of mentor high fighting cardinal marching band. I play clarinet!! We played the styx show this year and Moody Blues for compitition. We also move our show. we don't stand still.

No, you're incorrect. Dr. Foster founded all the techniques and inovations that HBCU's are known for. Majority of the band directors that are around now studied under him. So, with that said I wonder where Drum Line got the concept of the movie from?
