@molonlave2010 Sorry dude, this jap. version is far away superior thant the US version. Just compare both versions, and u´ll notice that jap its better than US
It would seem that the North American version of CV3 is the only one that has "Vampire Killer" with that hesitation that I like so much near the end of the refrain.
I played CV3 before any of the others and haven't heard that delightful musical hop since.
This version would have sounded good on Simon's Quest...
I Think i get why Konami made Castlevania 3 on the Famicom much better than the US version... have a listen at the Castlevania 2 sound track on the Famicom... it's HORRIBLE compared to the US version.. at least in my opinion..
From hearing this tune, I imagine Trevor barely making his way into the castle doors and every creature is flying straight into him at the same time. Truly a masterpiece of situation.
I think a lot of the raspiness of these songs comes from the youtube conversion of these songs. I have this playing on my winamp right now through a NES music emulator and the bass-y, raspy parts aren't nearly as accentuated or loud. The bass-y parts of this song definitely drown out the rest of the instruments more than they should.
fukkin love it! been looking for this version of vampire killer for ages! this song just makes me remember why i love castlevania so much! thx for the upload!
Hearing this makes me want to get a famicom.

Lol, when you have a jap and US NES and game of this, you'll realize a big difrence in epicness.

Ahh...if only Trevor or Simon were still around. They could put an end to the Cullen family one and for all. :)

Or, maybe it isn't the bass that's too loud, but maybe the mids or treble levels are just more muted than they should be in this video.

Nah, this is the japanese version. It had a different sound chip.

Even considering the improved arrangement in CV3 from the old version of CV1, this is really good.
