  • does the client have to do anything other than enter my ip? no portforwarding or anything?

  • @evilerstealth Nothing, hosting is for port forwarding, but it doesn't hurt to have cilent with his ports opened too.

  • 3:45 very imPORTant, I see what you did there you clever fucking bastard. lol

  • @tJustSoup I'm going to add an annotation right now at that very spot to make it even super clean. Thank you. - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity No problem man. Is there a tutorial you have on how to use tunngle?

  • @tJustSoup I might have a tunngle overview program. I do have a tunngle troubleshooting video for sure. Watch that to get primed. In a nutshell, you install tunngle. Make account. Login. Go to game room of your choice. Tell people you are hosting or want to play with them. Start your game manually, go to multiplayer, find your game in question.

If you go to the gamedexterity.wikispaces(dawt)com, go to the tunngle tutorials on the list to see all tunngle videos I have done.

  • @gamedexterity Ok here is my problem. I know how to port forward already, did that. UPnP is up. I open up my game in the tunngle and host but my buddy cannot connect. He is using tunngle, he didn't port forward though. Is that the problem because I only thought it was the host that needs to port forward.

  • @tJustSoup Only host needs to port forward, tunngle says udp 11155 is open right? The minute the server is online, tell your friend to join. No kidding. I want him to sit at that lobby, and join as fast as he can.

  • @gamedexterity disregard. I am the idiot here. I didn't use the virtual IP, I used my external IP.... DERP. ty for everything man, we got it to work. I love you bro!

  • whats a host file?

  • @FancyMastermind It's just a file that windows uses is all.

  • if i use the hosts file fix ( add 127.0.0.1 nw2master.bioware.com to the hosts file) how does it work then? because i'm going to play via hamachi (i live in holland, game isnt available near me and i don't have paypal/credit card)? thanks in advance :)

  • Your laptop machine?

  • @sune343 Yes so what if I use a desktop and a laptop to play with each other. Is that weird ? - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity No, I just thought the wording was kind of funny. I think its pretty impressive that you were able to respond so quickly. as long as i have your attention, me and some friends are trying to play nwn2 together via lan with the same cd key and it won't let us. Would this technique allow us to bypass that? If not, do you know anything that can? Thanks in advance

  • @sune343 I'm trying to remember. If you have all the friends sit in the lobby, and the very exact "nanosecond" the host has his game up, I want all the guys to join the server as soon as possible to defeat the cd key authentication system. You guys got to be as quick as rabbits and if done correctly, all you guys should be in the same game, with same cd key. If that fails time after time again, then get a cd key generator. -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity That worked, it only took two tries to do it with one other person. It might be a clumsy fix, but it definitly worked. Thanks so much : )

  • Does it works with Hamachi? (even if I've got the cracked game)

  • @Chesza7 Yes. - Versatile

  • @IcantDiedeadenough This is exactly what I did with the NWN 1 video tutorial. - Versatile

  • 1:18 how do you bring up that menu? it's on vista or win7?

  • @sickclickrap Launchy. I have a video on this.

  • @gamedexterity ah okok thanks

  • When to know exactly when the server (host) goes online?

  • @kalmidor44 Ask the HOST.

  • @gamedexterity

    Nevermind that.

There's actually an easier way with hamachi. ( Just saying )

    Ty for the help though

  • @kalmidor44 Glad you got it working. Tell me, in hamachi, did the game work right away? You still got to edit your host file, didn't you?

  • @gamedexterity

The game works right away (maybe you have to wait a few seconds before it connects). And you DON'T have to edit the host file.

You just go in multiplayer, wait for it to login, make a new server (start new game or whatever it says), and then the one that wants to connect, goes to direct connect and types the host's hamachi IP.

That's how it worked for me :)

  • @kalmidor44 How about for those users with a cracked game or non legit key? If you don't do the host file edit, I could have sworned you just get an error message when it tries to contact the servers. - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity

I'll try that and inform you.

  • Thankyou. Was getting really confused about this, seems everyone logging in at the exact same nanosecond is the key!!

  • Mmmmh got an issue might be something really stupid but I just had to ask : Well when I wanna play mods everything works fine BUT when I wanna play the campaign with a friend of mine I can`t host the game its saying that the server wasnt responding (timed out) do you have any idea?(It`s over tunngle) Thank you for your time

  • @Galathil0The0Mighty Doesn't make sense if you can host mods, but not regular campaign. Open port udp 11155? - Versatile

  • Comment removed

  • @gamedexterity Thank you for your fast answer, after I rebooted my computer, I couldn't host any kind of game now (makes more sense). Tough my port was opened properly (made sure by watching your video about it) even tested it out in tunngle (in the option/system tab there`s a test to test your port) and it says its fine. So my error message is still the same it tries to connect to 127.0.0.1:11155 and it still says that they cant connect. I gotta say I am out of idea! (Btw my firewall is fine)

  • @Galathil0The0Mighty Tell the people to connect to you the exact "nanosecond" the server goes online. Quickness plays a big part here. Otherwise, I'm not sure. I am not a NwN god, nor am I religious fan or anything like that with the series. There might be some hot shots in the NwN rooms that may know something that I don't. - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity Thank you for your time I liked your tutorials ill look farther into it elsewhere!

  • can i play the campaign of nwn2 in lan too or i can only play the "modules"?

i have been trying to connect with a friend in the nwn2 campaign and it shows a massag saying that my name was refused by the server... please help!!!

  • @NickStagakis You have to have the client join the HOST the exact second the HOST goes online. - Versatile

  • What port does the game run off of?

  • @FailAries The default port I don't remember. You can find it in the game easily. I changed it to 11155 for tunngle only purposes. - Versatile

  • мля как вы американцы любите попиздеть 1000 лишних слов

  • I tried it without disconnect trick using the added line in hosts file, and it worked well. Only "problem" is to have different cd-key for every computer/laptop you use to play the game.

  • I had the same problem as Ranziel1 , but I reinstalled the game with a different cd-key and it worked. CD Key was not legit either. I think it's because if you try to register, the game recognizes your game as a cracked version, and you can't log in that way.

  • @GaXaSLT I didn't try to register, but it does have something to do with the CD keys. I'm not sure myself, but after messing up with keys and trying different ones, it let me in. Later I installed both of the x-packs and it again prevented me from starting an MP game (this time when I tried to host it), and when then I changed keys again and it worked, like the last time. So my only advice to those with various "authorization" problems is to try and find another set of CD keys.

  • I added the line to my hosts files and now it just keeps saying "Your CD key is unregistered", which isn't surprising since I use a pirated version and I can't actually register my CD key... And so it won't let me to the multiplayer game window, I didn't really get it how you were able to access it either, you ended up on that "fail to authenticate" message, then popped back in and already had LAN game buttons and such.

  • @Ranziel1 My copy is not legit either. You have to be quick and do what I do with the disconnect trick.

  • @gamedexterity Nevermind now, I managed to get it work, thank you for the guide.

  • @Ranziel1 Wait, you are not done yet. You must share with the rest of us what you did to fix your game so other people can learn from your suffering. Thank you. - Versatile

  • so, i'm going to try this but, yesterday i tried to play Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 with my friend and we could see other servers but when he create the game i cant see his server and when i create he cant see my server, i hope this direct ip works, we don't get too much lucky to play games online xD well if know something about that thing i've mentioned about R6 let me know please xD Well Nice vid!

  • @brunodukraio See tunngle hosting guide, GD channel left hand side. R6 vegas 2 works great, see tunngle game collection #3. - Versatile

  • i can make the 1st part but when i try to host a game it says "invalid cd-key". does anybody know where can i get keygen for the game + expansions ?

  • @iron1111 Check the game ISO or cd and see if there is a keygen there. Or read the NFO.

  • it isnt on game ISO. and i cant find a keygen anywhere on the internet... if somebody could give me a link...? :)

  • @iron1111 In the NFO file?

  • I have the last version (1.023) but not work ...I not should update ??

  • @Vend1cator91 Not work how? You need to make sure someone is hosting, or if you are hosting, make sure you have udp 11155 open if using tunngle for your pc.

  • @gamedexterity yes I put my ip tunngle(11155) but doesn't work...... give me dis error ''time out'' ......when I have tried to make the server.

  • @Vend1cator91 Do it while disconnected from internet.

  • @gamedexterity yes man i do it, i disconnected from internet ....i open multiplayer(without internet) ....I connected again.... and i tryed creat server when shows me to tunngle '' Welcome to Tunngle'' and I make my virtual tunngle ip+11555 before...

  • @Vend1cator91 i mean 11155 LOL

  • @Vend1cator91 So your game uses 11155 and you are creating the server when offline? I am using the default version of the game, have not patched yet. How about you? I know it does work. I got it to work in 5 minutes, so I know it works! - Versatile

  • instead of using the disconnect trick add this line to your hosts file

    127.0.0.1 nw2master.bioware.com

similar to the nwn1 [How To] just that it applies for nwn2 - so check nwn1 [How To] if you don't get what I'm saying

to GD: keep it up :D

  • @dresmasher Real clever comment! I'm going to add it to the notes right now. - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity glad to help ^^

  • Me and my friend tried this many times and re-installed the game and stuff like that. But everytime we try to make or connect to each others server we get this message "Player name refused by the server" please help us.

  • @Aksuno0b You need to have one person sit at the LAN screen and JOIN the INSTANT the server pops up.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol, I can't even create a network on Tunngle because that function is apparently not available yet :S

  • watch?v=Oudt5l045og

  • After the disconnect trick, when I click 'New Game' anda 'Next', pops up a window showing the 'Attempting to find Server' , it just doesn't find the server, says 'Connection Error, Server is not responding (timed out)' Any ideas ?

  • @INFPCesar You have to do it quicker. I never had an issue with the game trying to find server when doing the disconnect trick. Ask the gamers, they might know a trick to help you out even faster. - Versatile

  • YES! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Finally it works, i was so stupid with trying to use the external ip, this was the easiest thing i've ever missed, i didn't see the virtual ip below in tunngle lol ^^ *sorry for bad enligsh*

  • Thank you for the reply but i still have the ip problem... which ip am i supposed to use? (while using tunngle) you write your ip then added the tunngle port for direct connect, the question is which ip you wrote? your dynamic ip (which you can find out from a certain website) or did you take static ip for hosting? (also, if you or someone else know about how to connect with hamachi for this game can this person tell me should i use hamachi ip with a port added to it?) *sorry for bad english*

  • @PyriteLuffy If using tunngle, use the tunngle IP. If using hamachi, use hamachi ip. Never ever do you need the external IP (the IP from the website). - Versatile

  • hi thank you for the tutorial but i have a problem we can't get past the direct connect step we used tunngle and i set the port to 11155 when creating the game and i give my dinamic ip added 11155 to it but my friend couldn't connect(server not responding) then we used with hamachi i give my hamachi ip to my friend and resetted the port while creating the game then my friend tried to join without adding any port to my hamachi ip (it adds 5121 automatically) it didn't work what should i do?

  • @PyriteLuffy : When the host starts the game, have the client join IMMEDIATELY. - Versatile

  • In your video you didn't mention if online play on a PW is also possible or not. When I try the disconnect trick and refresh the server list my game crashes. Any similar ideas about it?

  • @Tiars666tiamat : That I do not know, I don't even know what a PW is. I never had a game crash when I tested this unfortunately.

  • @gamedexterity PW is a Persistent World (like a mini mmo module for NwN) Nevermind, I got past the sign in screen but it still checks for an original CD key if I try to join a server, too bad.

  • @Tiars666tiamat : I had used a keygen on both PCs, so that helped fight the issue. Oh well.

  • do you know where can i get keygen for the game + expansions? it aint on ISO and torrent file

  • Please! I need a different key of this: 7W7LA-FJ3PN-DXPGK-NYHCW-AHACY-QAHQN-E9PAH

  • @RIACK91 : Find a key generator. Good luck. - Versatile

  • where you got the cd-key to two computers ?

  • @UriInnombrable : I used the same key I think.

  • Thank you VERY helpful and VERY clear!

  • I've been trying to get this work over Hamachi for 4 hours now - it doesn't really work. I do get the server up on the right IP addres (with the default port 5121, because using Hamachi's default will only f*** things up). I use different CD keys, correct Hamachi names and Hamachi server name on both computers. The problem is that every time I try to connect to my server (immediately when it's up) the server keeps refusing my player name. I do not have firewalls on either of the computers. :(

  • @Moorlord : Hmm, now you know how I feel when I spent close to 21 collective hours with a friend to get the first game working.

I have not used Hamachi with NWN2, nor do I intend to. What version of the game are you using, the stock version? So the disconnect trick works, but you get the refused name error, which I don't recall myself ever getting. Thank god. Try using simple names like Jack and John. Join immediately when server is up. Look into no cd exes for use. - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity Uhh, that's BAD man. I'm using the Mask of The Betrayer with 2nd latest patch. We also tried Tunngle with no success (get the same name error). I think the problem is that we are behind a university campus PPPoE connection and therefore can't really access the router configs.

  • @Moorlord : How about other games? This Bioware game is so problematic, more so because of the name issue that I have no idea how to solve. - Versatile

  • I've forwarded 11155, logged into tunngle and all seems to be fine setup wise, but during Connection Status it tells me:

    Attempting to find Server.

    IP = 127.0.0.1:11155

    Connection Error:

Server is not responding (Timed out).

    --------------

Any ideas of what's gone wrong and how I could possibly fix it? I have tried forwarding 5121 UDP via the router (Firewall is configured correctly). It was letting me go through before just fine when i didn't have tunngle installed, not anymore :(

  • @Lonehwolf1 : You you get it working yet? - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity Sure did, thanks for the support! =] Trick was to make sure my connection was cut completely both while authenticating in the servers, as well as creating the campaign and selecting a character. Only once the actual game is loading should the "host" reactivate the connection (my laptop's wifi reacquires connection after switching the network card back on in 2 seconds flat lol :p) Sorry for the late reply btw!

  • @Lonehwolf1 : What you have described to me is NOT surprising. Maybe for some gamers, they have to wait a bit longer until they are in the actual game before they reconnect the Internet. Live and learn. Thanks! - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity I tried this only i used Hamachi but same basic idea, both in the same hamachi network, (Keep in mind that we are both using the exact same copy of NWN2 same cd keys ect.) i followed your instructions perfectly given they were not very difficult to follow in the first place. i get the lan server up, and when the other computer on my network tries to join, it says "That cd key is already in use on that server" Not sure how to get around this. plz help game loos really fun thanks

  • @mythrandian : Install a different key for the game OR tell the client PC to join the HOST PC the instant the PC hosts. - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH IT F*CKIN WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!! you are awesome, you can expect to see me and many friends commenting on your vids and directing traffic your way from now on, thank you for the quick response as well!!!

  • @mythrandian How did you guys fix it? I mean, WOW! I'm glad I had brightened your day. You deserve it. Have fun! - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity what we did was relatively simple. I had the person joining the host server Connect the moment i clicked Start Game(it will say server found attempting to join) they have to connect before the server is technically up, then it will say for them server found attemting to connect just like it did for the host and BAM. That also works for more than 2 as i have gotten 8 people in 1 game thus far, very fun thank you :)

  • @mythrandian : This is tribal knowledge I forgot to share. I am putting it into an annotation right now. - Versatile

  • I have a question: does it works at neverwinter nights version 1.23 with all additions? Because it doesnt work on my PC :/

  • @07mathew07 : Honestly do not know. For sake of time, I know version 1.00 works. -Versatile

  • 2 Questions: Can this be done with hamachi, or must it be tungle? (Even if it's just a speculative answer).

Secondly, do both players HAVE to have an authenticated game? Or is one (host?) enough, or possibly no need to be verified, since authentication never happens? Thank you.

  • @Lonehwolf1 1) Hamachi is fine. 2) Authentication doesn't occur. -Versatile

  • Comment removed

  • @gamedexterity We've tried with hamachi and my mate had a problem with connecting to me, even though probably something i could fix, i didn't want to go through the trouble. Downloaded Tunngle now, we're gonna try like so. One thing I ain't sure about where to read my tunngle's ip. I'm guessing bottom left which says "Virtual IP" with a :11155 added at the end. Issue is right clicking players and copying ip to clipboard (there are 2 more besides me) seems to give same exact ip... any idea y?

  • When I create a game it does not forward the IP address but continues to connect to 127....Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @Niewoehner8 : Let's start simple. Start with rev 1.00 of the game. Host in tunngle, do the disconnect trick. It needs to use your tunngle ip address. -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity : I am waiting for my buddy to get back from work, but I realized when entering the port to host in nwn2 I wasnt entering the forwarding port from tunngle and just left the default 5121 or whatever on there. It was late, I swear im not dumb haha. If I have problems I shall repost. Thank you, refreshing to see someone dedicated to helping others in such matters.

  • @Niewoehner8 : No problem. The tutorials are shown with utmost care to the smallest details. If the user (you) fail to recognize these details, then hell, it makes everyone's lives a bit tougher.

The good news is that if you are pro, the game works in less than 5 minutes. I would know, because that is exactly how much time it took me right after a fresh install. :) God speed. -Versatile

  • I tried it, but my friend cannot connect to my server (and I recieved the "player name have been refused by the server" error when being the host). I'm trying some alternatives now, like the "system32/drivers/etc/host" modification. Any advice for that error when being the host? (it happened just a couples of times, it was pretty random... I'm afraid it could happen again)

  • @rantifusaxp : Have the player sit at the LAN screen. The nanosecond the server comes online, I want him to join as instantaneously as he can to defeat the cd key authentication server. It's not easy so good luck! - Versatile

  • Hey, can you use the disconnect trick to play on LAN? Coz when i try to connect any other servers from the list, it says: player name have been refused by the server, and i cant login to either of them. Please help :(

  • @joegasgano : Yes, and for the name thing you must log in ASAP once the server is up. - Versatile

  • Okay so now I understand everything, but I have a question. My friend create a server, but I cant join. There is always a message "server dont accept your name" or something like that.. My friend used tunngle ip and did everything right..

    Pls help me ;D

  • @JauntyGal : Change your user name. Sit at LAN menu. When server is up, join it as fast as you can. -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity Hm.. I already changed my name.Which name shoud I have and which port? "Tunngle" or "Server" ?Or is this not important?

  • @JauntyGal : Use the tunngle port. I remember seeing this I think with the name issue, but its been awhile. I don't remember how to fix this. I don't recall this many issues with this game, not like NWN 1. - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity Hm okay, I will try it again tomorrow.. But its very weird, cause my friend hosted a server and I didnt find it at lan.. (the server)..

    but thx <3 :]

  • @gamedexterity So you dont have to do this.I´ll deinstall the game and finish. ;)

I did just the uploads after install NW2, its the version 1.023 ... The game is NOT difficult AND Im not stupid.I still made the same and my friend did (for him it was possible to do this) , but I still have the fucking problem with "Client timed out" ..

Cant create a server and dont see the server from my friend (still saw two other servers from othr people) ..

    So dunno... but wayne..^^

  • @JauntyGal : OK, so sorry you had to go through so much trouble. >_> -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity uhm..sry Im from Austria , I think you understand me a little bit wrong.. I didnt mean that "bad" or "unfriendly" or dont know.. ^^

But thx for your support.. :-)

  • @JauntyGal : I got a new answer for you. Do this. Turn on computer with internet disconnected. Start the game. Get to the character selection screen. Now alt tab. Turn on Internet. Turn on tunngle. It should work. This is what somewhat did and told me about it. -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity I will try it soon.Thank you very much.

    love, lisa

  • Awww Im from Austria and didnt understand everything.Shit.

    :D

Jemand da der Deutsch spricht und mir das bitte nochmal erklären kann? :-)

  • What's that program you types "neve" into for neverwinter nights? I used to have it but forgot the name. D:

  • @zack22333 : Launchy is what I use. -Versatile

  • I have a question, do all the computers need tunngle or just the computer hosting/creating the game?

Also, if you get the CD key generator error, and were using an expansion provided by Vitality, you probably entered jibberish for a CD key, that's why it's not working, use the proper CD by checking the comments

  • @ChadGarion25 Yes, not only you but also anyone who wants to play with you should have tunngle running, in the end, tunngle is the "big server". It doesn't matter if you are the hoster or the one who joins a game, if you want to play with your friends online though tunngle not only you but also they shold have tunngle and use it to play online - hellome7

  • @ChadGarion25 : In regards to the CD-key, you cannot type in garbage text. The game will refuse it. All PCs need tunngle. - Versatile

  • I just saw this clip and i wanted to contribute if anyone is wondering how to play if this method doesn't work as it didnt for me.

If you create an account with Neverwinter Nights 1 <-- (pay attention) it doesn't ban your newly created account and it makes it available for the multiplayer access on Neverwinter Nights 2... while creating it from the 2nd one bans your account.

After that just login using the data from Neverwinter 1 and it should be a piece of cake to do the rest using tunngle

  • Where is the patch that I use? Becouse I have last patch (1.23.1765) bat there isn't crack to this patch, but there is crack for 1.23.1763.

I need crack to play on neverwinter night? Or need old version?..............

I have test of play with my friend but have error when he connect to my server ("CD key is used on this server")

    Where is the problem?

P.S. We have used tunngle and hamachi....

  • @RIACK91 I Only tested with the original version of the game to save time. If you have cd key error, it is important the client connects to the server immediately. Maybe change your keys? -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity

    1) I and my friend don't have original version

    2) To change the key, I need to reinstall the game?

    3) I don't understand "client connects to the server immediately". ?Immediately?

    sorry for bad english....

  • @RIACK91 : 1) That is OK. I didn't either. 2) Yes. You may not need to do this. 3) When PC1 host the game, the second PC needs to join right away. -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity

Sorry but I don't understand what is the patch that I can use...... I can use last patch? (1.23.1765)

P.S. Last patch don't have the crack.

What is the best solution? Reinstall the game and expansion without patch?

  • @RIACK91 : Install game fresh, and try that first. -Versatile

  • If I might, I'd like to add a (long) comment about how I did succeeded to play online with a cracked copy of the game.

Tunngle didnt worked at all for me, my computer could never find the tunngle server.

It just sticked with trying to connect with the 127.0.0.1 server (which apparently no-one can change). I just succeeded to connect to them, doing the disconnect trick before (to bypass authorization) and then set the defaut port (5121) (I port-forwarded it too) and I created a game.

  • But the first time, I was rejected because of my name. I changed my (false-to-bypass-authorization) name to a more complicated one, didnt set any MdP password and the game just connected straight into the good servers (127.0.0.1:5121).

Hope it'll help some of you!

  • What if I choose "Join LAN game"? Will it open up the server browser?

  • @Hidraga : Yes, if there is someone hosting in tunngle of course. -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity , спасибо!

  • Is this disconnect trick necessary? Is there another way?

  • @Hidraga : I don't see what the big deal is. The disconnect trick got me playing in 5 minutes. There is no other method, unless there is a way to add code in the HOST file to block the server, but I do not know what that code is.

If you want to spend more than 5 minutes researching a solution, go ahead. I spent way too much time with NVN1 (15+ hours) to make it work when it turned out I had a bad game copy. I am done with bioware. -Versatile

  • @gamedexterity , ok, i see. :~)

  • great information...we will try this trick soon and tell ya how it's gone

  • I made it the trick was to restart my comp and not turn od the net untill I have made a game and it works! Thanks Versatile for responding to my comments!

  • @Nick100Li : Wow, a total restart? Hell, if it works, I am not complaining. More power to you! -Versatile

  • @Nick100Li I have the same problem you had.Cant host a server, there is always the message "Server doesnt answer.(Timed out)"

But I cant believe that it will work with a Pc Restart, cause how should work that?

Everything you did is away after Restart....

Please can you explain me exactly what you did?I really want to play that game and Im already pissed off..^^

    greetz lisa

  • @JauntyGal : I don't understand why this game is so difficult. What version is your game? I really don't want to do this, but I can reinstall NWN2 this weekend, and using the stock install see if you can login to my server. - Versatile

  • I keep getting "connection to server timed out" and I can't figure out why

  • @theswampsquirrel : Do the disconnect trick. See comment by Nick100Li. - Versatile
