What kind of stuff do u add in your sump? is it ok if I can use bioballs to take out bacteria too?

Hi MrTvshow.....I use live rock in the sump and macro algae...I would NOT recommend bioballs as over time the capture and release nitrates and other items that are bad for reef. get some small pieces of live rock and you will see great results...Good luck and take care

@mheffernan can I put live rocks and macro algae together in a hang on filter as well should that be fine? I still have my algae friend still in my hang on filter? but it is not in the back of the tank yet because it makes my bowfront tank ugly but with the power heads it is much nicer then hang on filters?

Looks like they are not selling the 24" anymore. They do have the 36" though. I've recently put up a 250w MH pendant over my tank. It's powered by an icecap and it's been great so far. I'd like to get some PC's along the sides for supplemental lighting. Are you hanging your light, or do you have it on the legs?

Hi LukLeo...thanks for the compliment. My sump is just the RIO large pump that came with the Wet Dry filter system that I purchased with the tank. I recently removed all of my bio balls and replaced that with live rock and macro algae. This hobby is very addictive and I just added a plurple and blue clam along with a Watermelon coral and some other new pieces. I will update shortly and thank again r the feedback. It is appreciated. What kind of tank do you have?

I have a 92g, as well, but I'm still trying to set it up. I bought everything secondhand. :) I really hope that mine can look like that one day.

Yes. they are. My tank has been up for about a year and I just added a Blue clam and an acropora this evening along with a Mandarin goby
