  • Wonderful music. Just found out the name of this piece after listening to it for over 30 years. My deepest gratitude to KHPR for enlightening me.

  • That....was......FANTASTIC!

  • I listen to this while I take a shit. Makes it feel majestic.

  • @WFurrer91 I can relate!

Orchestral Trumpet Section Sample Library SAM Trumpets

    h t t p : / / u l . t o / 0 3 9 x z p c n

  • yes, played by trumpets. pls no organ.

  • Oh~!

  • Hopefully it will be played at William and Kates wedding tomorrow...

  • Maurice Murphy playing??

  • @darkslayer106 Yeah this is Maurice Murphy back when he was with LSO

  • The version I LOVE, and can't find anymore is different. At the section that begins at 1:31 the lone trumpet plays a counter line to the violins. It hits a high note, and holds it. Simply gorgeous!!! I can't find any version of that!

I love this song so much! I can't imagine why anyone would do the Wedding March when they could have this!

  • was lucky enough when i was a young player to play this with these people

  • I simply adore this. It's the perfect wedding processional song. It's the one Princess Diana used.

  • Trust the LSO quality plus plus

  • Simply angelic!!! =)

  • Long live His Majesty Crown Prince Fredrick of Denmark..the future king!

  • I played this in my school band!

  • This was played in the church at my Confirmation when we came in. But was not called simply Trumpet Voluntary, but The Prince Of Denmark's March. It sounded so cool in the church. You felt like a royal. 350 people in the church.

  • @LadyDoOrDie @pinkvespa95 @shaweebakla

Soon to be my wedding processional as well!

  • when i listen that kind of music . then i will go the another world

  • This is so moving it brings me to tears!

  • Can I get this as a download to my mobile phone?

  • I am playing with my orchestra too and i play the celo and the hardest part is the vibrator in the woman next to me bitch never switches it off.

  • @raypatrickeye Vibrator in her vagina??

  • i'll have this for my wedding processional.

  • @shaweebakla Excellent choice, this melody is wonderful :)

  • The trumpet seemed a teensy bit flat or something.

  • i'm going to have this played when i walk down the aisle at my wedding someday :)

  • @pinkvespa95 I had this at my wedding, as the "outmarch" (sorry, don't know what it's called in Eglish).

A tip if you really want to have this: Have a real trumpeteer (?) playing. It its beuatiful on the organ, but it should be played an trumpet.

Nevertheless I felt like a real queen that day. :-)

  • maurice murphy is one boss trumpet player

  • for my taste, there are too many strings. more trumpets should have been used.

  • @cheateRt4e

Agreed! I feel it's often the case actually...

  • My orchestra is playing a shortened version of this, and it sounds really cool. I play cello, and the hardest part about this is the vibrato, which I still fail at. DX

  • That sounds perfect ... like Haendel ... BUT too many strings, less trumpets !!!

    Sorry.

  • is this recording on an album somewhere?

  • @tptmaster90: Songs That Won the War - Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of VE day cd1

  • Whenever I listened to this, it reminds me Princess Diana's wedding!

  • I have always liked this piece. It became popular in the early 70's. It was the processional in my wedding in 1974.

  • I played this song on bells. It was for honor's night and well it was for the teachers.

  • I can now see the epicness in this song, before I used to play this one myself, I guess it's not the same if you play it alone :P

  • I find the presence of 2 choired clavicembalo disposition very objectionable. Organ and theorbo would make it sublime. Believe or not, Theorbo & organ resonate to each other. If you tape microphone capsule on them including trumpet & analyze with sweeping oscilloscope, then would you know that clavicembalo has too much distortion like guitars rhat I have no use as continuo or accompaniment.

  • I'd like to register my objection to your statement. I like this recording how it is. I think this is the best way to play the piece. This instrumentation, and a trumpet that can do trills.

  • Comment removed

  • I play the trumpet, but I can't do that twirl thing like at 0:2

  • "twirl thing"- lol...it's actually called a trill!

  • How is it done? and what does it look like on a sheet?

  • Comment removed

  • type in 'trill' in wikipedia..its all there

  • You move your have like for instance an Bb to A move your finger up and down in a fast motion

  • You mean Trill>

  • Hearing the section from 1.31-2.06 always makes me feel capable of taking on the entire universe.

  • Did you listen to the "Concerto for two trumpets and orchestra" by Antonio Vivaldi, performed by Maurice Andre, all by himself??? it's also awesome !!!

  • I am inclined to agree with anne.Maurice Murphy is an eceptional trumpet player, one of the finest in the world and he just makes every piece of music sound better. This is my favourite piece and made all the more enjoyable thanks to Mr.Murphy

  • Who is the soloist? Is it Maurice Murphy? He was the Principal Trumpet Player of the London Symphony, and recently retired.

  • Who is the soloist? Bill Lang?

  • speechless
