Back in this day, no one could stay on their feet against George---Gregorio peralta, I think is one who lasted 10 rds with him in 1970, and of course Ali, who outfoxed him and let him punch himself out
@Maxshard - Your guess would be wrong just like your information on the term being discussed. My guess is that you are the productive of parents who taught you to hate black people but you are trying to your credit to break that cycle. I bet you have even met a black person ... once
@sweetbells Schwartze is German for black person. Just because it is also used as slang by some people deosn't mean a thing. My guess is you're a white self righteous, over-liberalised, Frankfurt-School-trained-marxist-but-doesn't-know-it type democrat person.
Hilarious at the start, with Foreman scampering out and seeming immediately to shove the other guy over, like a scene from a kindergarten playground. Kirkman looked as unsteady on his legs on rising as for the genuine knockdowns, for which he got up just as quickly. He must have been enraged, as RobStanley says.
foreman was actually smarter than he's often given credit for. he intimidates his opponent with his size, but instead of bearing down on him he keeps his man right at the end of his reach. this allows him to control the action with his reach and stay out of harm's way. he has an excellent jab and is patient with his punching, this is one of the only fights i've ever seen him rush at the other guy. plus he knew how to put a guy down with a variety of shots from either hand.
Foreman didnt just overpower this guy, he outsmarted him. Pissed him off right from the first second, and waited for his shot. Boone was either too dumb or enraged to stay down for a few seconds, and that played right into George's hands.
This was one of George's early tests, as Kirkman was regarded as a tough fighter. He may have gotten KO'd, but he at least tried to take the fight to George and went for it.
This was part of the undercard of Frazier vs. Foster. I had read a lot about Boone was hoping he'd give George "a good whoopin'". I was shocked at how slow and awkward he was right from the beginning. The poor guy never had a chance.
i met boone, and his story was he didn't get any sparring in, cause his manager was to cheap. he's treating george like the punching bag he used to train with. he did break georges rib, though
Foreman's boxing skills are underrated, and when he was young, I don't think he was ever as slow as people say. Foreman is as technically sound as Lennox Lewis.
Knockdown at 4.25 is the funniest thing I've seen this year.

I am appalled that the announcer is calling george Foreman a "Schwartze" which is German for nigger. This is bullshit...

@Maxshard I totally agree with your assessment of that libtard.

@sweetbells You OBVIOUSLY don't speak German. There is nothing derogatory about "shwartze", it's simply a description of the man's colour.

Kirkman reportedly on medication for back problems. Had a decent career, but was often inactive due to injuries.

George not only out-slugged him, but actually OUTBOXED the guy. George looks surprisingly quick here.
