players are taught to openly compliment their opponents these days (good sportsmanship has become more important and encouraged) and no one talks about the sheer fear they have for kobe. respect , yes.... but F.E.A.R. no...that's the difference. against kobe, players feel/felt they have a chance...against mj, they already knew they didn't (which played right into the mental edge jordan had over players)
@maulman100 true! 1987- 1992 jordan was UNREAL. Jordan struck real fear in opponent's hearts...kobe is highly respected but they don't REALLY fear him.
@tsferg There are two reasons that I say people are comparing late-period jordan to prime kobe 1.) late period jordan was the last image we saw of the DOMINANT jordan years...so that is the natural comparison based on that alone (plus that is when we actually saw them go head-to-head a little) and 2.) NO ONE in their right mind can look at 87-92 jordan and prime kobe and think kobe is evenly matched with MJ...it's laughable.
AND those proud players from the 80s and 90s OPENLY spoke of fearingMJ
I've come to realize over the years that when people compare kobe to jordan that they are really comparing LATE PERIOD jordan to kobe. Prime Jordan has absolutely NO rival . period. so yeah, kobe is 1b to michael's 1'a. kobe is 1b to "post-1st comback" michael... that is.
Even the Admiral had to salute the unbridled talent that the 5-Star General/Supreme Allied Commander Michael Jordan possessed. MJ was an absolute BEAST during this period who never got tired and never was at a loss for a jaw-dropping shot created on the spot.
mj knocked down a buzzer beater 2 bad the bulls were still one point short from tying the game, hence u dont see this play in jordans top 10 buzz-beats, u can even see a bulls player getting into position to steal the ball even though da game is over
Geez look at that elevation at 4:28, who actually jumps that high on a jumper? 4:40 he just explodes out of nowhere into the middle of the screen, and that lightning first step at 5:03, are you serious? (And he just happens to dunk on Robinson on that play....) Just a crazy show

the spurs, as long as I have been a fan(20yrs.) have always been about team ball, and I love it. However, thank god there weren't 5 MJ's on the court at the time or it would've been a masacre.
The reason why most NBA champions win with great bigmen is because great bigmen create high percentage shots on offense and draw double teams and on defense they stop people at the rim. Offensively, Jordan substituted a bigman's contributions with high percentage mid to short range jumpers, fadeaways and perfect footwork on the block. Defensively, he (along with Pippen and Rodman) were on a string and simply did not let the opposition near the paint.
No doubt. The number one stat that wins games is FG%. Efficiency is the Big Man's game. MJ was the only perimeter player to have the efficiency stats of the greatest centers ever. Not only that, he is above them all at #1 in PER. This will never happen again - ever. As scouts say, you look for the next big man - not the next MJ because it's not happening.
Jordan and Kobe are great players. Jordan by far is the better player and Kobe has a chance to go down as a top 5 player from his own era. Jordan should be compared to Shaq and Duncan who are the only leaders with multi-championships.
Robinson himself has said that he didn't care about the scoring title, but his teammates respected and adored him so much that THEY wanted him to win the scoring title so they kept feeding him. Robinson and the word, "selfish", do no belong in the same sentence as Robinson may have been the most selfless player that has ever played. By the way, I do believe that Jordan is the greatest ever just so you know.
I understand that some people may not like David Robinson (for reasons unknown because even his contemporaries have the utmost amount of respect for him) but just for the record, Robinson had a 32-16 career record against Olajuwon and vs. Ewing? Not even close...Robinson had a 30-7 against Ewing.
but jordan didn't really guard robinson, he got his steals & blks against robinson doubleteaming him. and though the bulls didn't have a big man, they had grant& rodman who were better than many big men.
A Center & a Shooting Guard are two different positions and have different effectiveness. However, the differences in this case is leadership and MJ had that in abundance.
yeah motherfuckin bitch, like how jordan just shoved the ball down robinsons throat like that shit wasn't nothing. lmao, jordan fuckin owns robinson. i don't give a fuck who won this game bitch. jordan killed his ass in this game easy. take it in the ass you fuckin faggot wickedjscotts. there is more of this type of shit coming bitch.
yeah motherfuckin bitch, like how jordan just shoved the ball down robinsons throat like that shit wasn't nothing. lmao, jordan fuckin owns robinson. i don't give a fuck who won this game bitch. jordan killed his ass in this game easy. take it in the ass you fuckin faggot wickedjscotts. there is more of this type of shit coming bitch.
it don't matter how many points you score a loss is a loss and no david robinson didnt lose alot of meaning the spurs beat the bulls which the bull could never beat david robinson spurs with terry cummings being as good as he was let's face it the bulls suck and got their asses handed to them lol
lmao, motherfucker scotts, wtf are you talking about it took david robinson 10 fuckin years to win a title and everyone from hakeem to ewing owned his gay ass, lmao bitch robinson never won a title while jordan was on the scene bitch, shit,he never even made it to the championship round so jordan could stomp a hole in his ass on that stage,
71 points garbage? The guy was a CENTER. He doesn't even initiate the offense like Kobe and Jordan did, he has to wait until they give him the ball. This is just as impressive as Jordan's 69, maybe slightly less than Kobe's 81 but definitely nowhere near Chamberlain's 100.
Robinson scored the quietest 71 points ever, I tell you. If he'd played for a big market it would be a legendary, well known performance. As it is, only NBA fans pretty much know of it.
The game was set up for Robinson to score all those points. He wanted to win the scoring title that year so his team fed him the ball everytime they could so that he could score as many points as possible. Not so impressive after u know this is it?
And I suppose Kobe's 81 points were the result of him playing within the team concept and for the win? It was a blowout victory and Kobe kept shooting it just so he could get 81.
Any time a player scores that many (except maybe Wilt's and Michael's, maybe) it is a selfish pursuit beyond the game. The fact they kept feeding Robinson does not mean the other team stopped guarding him (though the Raptors sure seemed to to let Kobe do what he wanted half the time).
We agree on KB's matter, but in Wilt's and Robinson's case the game was set up for them to score, Wilt wanted to get 100, and Robinson wanted the scoring title. Its not the same as scoring in the flow of the game as Michael did. So neither of those games are more impressive than MJ's
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in Jordan's case, I've only highlights. I've seen players score 50 within the flow of the game, but more than that is usually selfish gunning.
In Wilt's case, there is no other player in the history of the league who, even if they were force fed every trip down the court would score 100 points. The game may have been set up so he would go for 100, but I'm pretty sure the other team wasn't in on it. its not as 'pure' but still jawdropping.
MJ scored 69 pts, dished 6 assists, and grabbed 18 rebounds, and i believe he shot above 60% from the field. Selfish? No sir. More like a great all around performance.
I dont say Wilt's performance wasnt impressive, it was, but the era and the circumstances in which it happened take some of it
hoopsencyclopedia one prob with your stats are, why are u comparing jordan to david robinson, they both play completely diff positions, you should be comparing the sg on the spurs who was goin at em. no disrespct to you tho man
yeah but this was a great win for the spurs 112-111 and the next year the spurs swept the bulls in the regular season. david robinson blocked mj's shots more then once during this era
Oden could only hope to be as good as Robinson. Robinson was a great rebounder and shot blocker, in addition to being a great scorer. The man did put up 71 in a game. Show some respect.
yeah that 71 was garbage it can't stack up to jordans 69 point game, david scored that many against a suck tema, and he did it to win a scoring title no very sportsman like.and in this video mike posterizes him twice lmao stay down giant
SHUTUP AND STOP HATING ON GREAT PLAYERS! iHATE IT WHEN jORDAN FANS HATE ON OTHER NBA GREATS FOR DOING SOMETHING "Jordan like". So tell me do you think he shouldn't have scored 71 just to please jordan??? (keep in mind I too am a jordan fan!!)
yea i made a pretty vague comment - but check out that dunk at 1:39 - i just think robinson is the closest oden-comparison thats out there - a crazy athletic center with an actual vertical leap
To say that Robinson went after 71 for selfish reasons reasons is downright ignorant.
You're talking about a guy who's poured $11 million into his own charter school so he can give disadvantaged kids a chance at a good education in a safe learning environment.
On the court he took a back seat to Duncan even though Robinson was still in his prime. And he never complained about minutes or getting the ball.
Im not labeling Robinson as selfish. Havin said that, it is a FACT the game was set for him to get enough points to take the scoring title. That u cant deny. So that was a forced situation. If MJ was challenged to go for 80 or 90 u think he wouldnt? Think again
I think that 69 point game was an overtime game if I'm not mistaken. And sorry, anytime a player scores that many points, it's forced a bit. No matter how you slice it, you have to take tons of shots to get that many points. Even if you hit a high percentage of them, you still have to take a lot of shots to get there.
Yes the 69pt game was in OT against Cleveland, MJ took 37 shots, not that many when u consider the amount of points, Robinson took 41 to score only 2 more points. The difference is MJ scored those points in the flow of the game and he took 37 shots in 50 minutes, i would hardly call that forcing. Robinson's game was set up, completly different.
37 shots is still a lot. That's .536 points a shot. Robinson took 4 more shots to get two more points. That's .578 points a shot. So, how is one forcing it while the other wasn't? What I said was that if you score that many points, you're taking a lot of shots, right? And you proved my point, MJ took a lot of shots to get what he got. And so did DRob. That's all I said. What I'm pointing out is that MJ's and DRob's accomplishments are virtually the same.
Cont... Jordan had 6 assists, and this proves he wasn't forcing it. Robinson had 5, so obviously they kept feeding him the rock. Jordan had 18 rebounds, showing he was doing other things. Robinson had 14 rebounds, again showing he was just hogging the ball. If you divide the points by the number of shots taken to get them, you'll see that both MJ and DRob are nearly identical, although DRob was a bit more efficient. But MJ's was still more impressive, right?
How many times do i have to say this. Robinson's game looses a lot of meaning just by the simple fact that it was set up from the beginning, it wasnt espontaneus. He took an awfull amount of shots in a 48 minute game just to get it. It didnt happen in the flow of the game like MJ's game did. If MJ played with the single goal of reachin 50 every night he would too.
Getting 69pts in 37 shots its dam good let me tell u, That's over 60% FG with a variety of shots. I wonder why Robinson got a better FG% in his game..Oh i dont know maybe because he's a CENTER? Still MJ was 62% and Robinson 63%. Not that much of a difference. 37 shots in a game gone to OT is not by any means a lot.
my bad it was 23 out of 37,still that shit is better than takin 41 shots like robinson did,who tried to win a scoring title, against shaq i believe and thats not selfish yeah fuckin right,at least jordan scored his points to try and win a game and looks like the bulls needed every last one of them, and the defensive ranking of the cavs was ten times that of the clippers,so whos effort was better,of course it was jordans
but the fact is mj couldnt do it that's the whole point here robinson is a center taking outside shots robinson did way more things than jordan did face it moron robinson took his team to being into the playoffs every year you idiot
Loose the attitude, im not offending anyone here. MJ couldnt do it? U can think that but only if u dont know better. MJ had 69 and Robinson 71 wow big dif, a couple more ft would do the trick. MJ has far more versatile game than Rob. Has Rob won 6 rings? NO. So wassup with the "Robinson did way more things than jordan" ludacris?
be fuckin quiet bitch, jordan owned every center he went up against, did you like how mike dunked on robinson twice in this video that was hilarious wasn't it he should bettter you don't jump with jordaninhis prime you getdstroyedhe learned that lesson when shaq fucked him up in the allstar game, lmao bitch, gtfo of here asshole
and another thing motherfucker scotts, jordan has a 500. record against david robinson bitch, and robinson on the other hand has a below 500. record against the jordan so now who dominated who,and when jordan came back from retirement the spurs didn't win one fuckin series matchup between them out of four tries, now shut your fuckin mouth bastard jordan owns all of you
fuck you bitch david robinson dominated jordan you dumb bitch before robinson and tery cummings got injured look it up you're fucking history you dumb idiot you're the motherfucker quit riding jordans dick bitch kid jordan owns shit david robinson owns jordan you sorry ass bitch so shut the fuck up loser
Oden is nowhere near Robinson's level though. Robinson was a much better rebounder and shot blocker than Oden has ever shown, and light years ahead of Oden on offense.
Plus, I've never seen Oden run with the guards the way DRob used to. Ewing is a much better comparison, although I doubt that's really a compliment.
Classic!!!So there is not one center Jordan did not dunk on....Robinson was the one I never saw get dunked on by MJ until now....But Robinson is still the man
Yeah, haha...25 years old, and he was still a rookie. I marvel at his longevity and the fact that he didn't win his first championship 'til he was like 34.
Hoops I don't know who you are but thanks. You comment like a pro as well. Chicago always had trouble with San Antonio and Houston. Mike does more in one game than most of these young guys do in a career! e.g. baseline dunk past and over David, effortless.
hoops, hey there - thanks for these vintage MJ moments. Do you trade games with people still? I am a big collector, have around 350 Jordan games on DVD. Let me know if you would like to trade? Thanks.
I remember this dude I knew from the bball team in my college, told me he was invited to play in MJ's Warner Bros. lot games, while he was filming Space Jam. He held games there and at Pauley Pavilion (UCLA).
He said, Jordan had the quickness of a 6'0 pg and the strength of a PF. He said that was something many people didn't and could not comprehend. How quick and strong he was.
For anyone who wants to see some highlights from this point in his career watch Michael Jordan's Playground. There are some vicious moves in that video.
Thanks Hoops. O Man, if you think about it. If you compare the todays NBA superstars to Jordan, there won't be any similarities. I'm sure that they play like Jordan, but the difference is too big. This video is the evidence, the speed, the strength, the hops, the hangtime, the pass, the ballhandling, everything, you don't get the full package anymore in the NBA. AHHHH! I missed Jordan.
'Hoops' u are amazing. I wish I had the insight to actually RECORD all the Bulls games I watched growing up- instead of just screaming and yelling in awe at the screen! LoL Thank God for you, man! p.s. I like the way u superfluously describe MJs abilities; perfect descriptions! ;-)
Thanks agian hoops, always love seeing your new additions. Jordan at his prime, nothing can compare. He was so ahead of his time. Where are you getting all these vids anyhow? I'd love to watch the full games.
I recorded MJ games after 1982 after watching him on TV for the first time. I saw that he was different back then - just better than anyone I'd ever seen before. I saved my games and started to trade with others. That's where these are from.
Yup, MJ changed the game as a guard among the great forwards and centers. Does anyone know which guards (other than like Payton and Nash, off the top on my head) in the last 20 years, won Defensive Player of the Year or MVP? They're mostly big men right?
princesspeace, stfu ho this is a jordan video gtfo of here you don't like that robinson got shitted on then don't watch jordan kicked his ass in this video, lmao but thats how it was for all centers jordan played against he owned all of them
Nice choice for a game to put up Hoops. I like how you also showed his defense, passing skills, the highlights that would have been, and also a few key baskets by the his opposition.
Ha. I just realized MJ dunked on The Admiral right after Robinson threw one down the other end. He's just the ultimate competitor.
MJ is #1 All-time at 27.92 PER. Shaq is #2 all-time at 27.82. Wilt had the single highest PER seasons at 32.12 and 31.79. MJ had 2nd highest PER season at 31.71.
PER is the efficiency stat. It measures offensive and defensive production and all FG%, 3FG% and FT% minus errors on a per minute basis. It is dominated by big men except for MJ - who is #1. The PER is the most referred to single number by coaches after every game to see who had a good game.
I'd say 88-92 was a period where both his physical and basketball skills were at their peak. That's when he was peerless as an entertainer. Of course, this isntt taking away what he was during the 2nd 3peat. I don't think some people have an idea of how darn quick MJ even in his mid 30's.
Serioussly, like he wasn't even breaking a sweat... the man had springs in his shoes. In 93, he was just tired from all the media attention, Olympics, low team morale... man, I remember those early 90s being the craziest in terms of media hype and attention.
at 4:30 , unbelieveable composure... Just too quick, too smart, too strong...Im eager to see the Indiana v bulls game from the 98 playoffs - game 7 ( i think ) ive read about it as one of the hardest games Jordan had to work at... He and Pippen had an uphill struggle against a well drilled team and still they provailed... from what Ive read, its pure determination which gets them through...
if only he was fouled on that trey im sure he would have tied it. thx for the vid hoops, next time try to put the box score info too, i would apreciate that

GOPStallion 4 years ago
I understand that some people may not like David Robinson (for reasons unknown because even his contemporaries have the utmost amount of respect for him) but just for the record, Robinson had a 32-16 career record against Olajuwon and vs. Ewing? Not even close...Robinson had a 30-7 against Ewing.
GOPStallion 4 years ago
but jordan didn't really guard robinson, he got his steals & blks against robinson doubleteaming him. and though the bulls didn't have a big man, they had grant& rodman who were better than many big men.

A Center & a Shooting Guard are two different positions and have different effectiveness. However, the differences in this case is leadership and MJ had that in abundance.

zopoundsakpase 4 years ago
71 points garbage? The guy was a CENTER. He doesn't even initiate the offense like Kobe and Jordan did, he has to wait until they give him the ball. This is just as impressive as Jordan's 69, maybe slightly less than Kobe's 81 but definitely nowhere near Chamberlain's 100.
Robinson scored the quietest 71 points ever, I tell you. If he'd played for a big market it would be a legendary, well known performance. As it is, only NBA fans pretty much know of it.
hellshocked 4 years ago
The game was set up for Robinson to score all those points. He wanted to win the scoring title that year so his team fed him the ball everytime they could so that he could score as many points as possible. Not so impressive after u know this is it?
rrTale 4 years ago
And I suppose Kobe's 81 points were the result of him playing within the team concept and for the win? It was a blowout victory and Kobe kept shooting it just so he could get 81.
Any time a player scores that many (except maybe Wilt's and Michael's, maybe) it is a selfish pursuit beyond the game. The fact they kept feeding Robinson does not mean the other team stopped guarding him (though the Raptors sure seemed to to let Kobe do what he wanted half the time).
hellshocked 4 years ago
We agree on KB's matter, but in Wilt's and Robinson's case the game was set up for them to score, Wilt wanted to get 100, and Robinson wanted the scoring title. Its not the same as scoring in the flow of the game as Michael did. So neither of those games are more impressive than MJ's
rrTale 4 years ago
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in Jordan's case, I've only highlights. I've seen players score 50 within the flow of the game, but more than that is usually selfish gunning.
In Wilt's case, there is no other player in the history of the league who, even if they were force fed every trip down the court would score 100 points. The game may have been set up so he would go for 100, but I'm pretty sure the other team wasn't in on it. its not as 'pure' but still jawdropping.
hellshocked 4 years ago
MJ scored 69 pts, dished 6 assists, and grabbed 18 rebounds, and i believe he shot above 60% from the field. Selfish? No sir. More like a great all around performance.
I dont say Wilt's performance wasnt impressive, it was, but the era and the circumstances in which it happened take some of it
rrTale 4 years ago
Robinson went for 71 points, 5 assists and 14 rebounds. Not a bad all around game himself.
dvs620 4 years ago
It may have been set up, but he also had assists and a great shooting % that game.

hoopsencyclopedia one prob with your stats are, why are u comparing jordan to david robinson, they both play completely diff positions, you should be comparing the sg on the spurs who was goin at em. no disrespct to you tho man
majid25 4 years ago
Understand. I put Robinson's stats since he was their star - not to insinuate they they were playing each other 1 on 1 or anything.
hoopsencyclopedia 4 years ago
yeah but this was a great win for the spurs 112-111 and the next year the spurs swept the bulls in the regular season. david robinson blocked mj's shots more then once during this era

essquared24 4 years ago
Oden could only hope to be as good as Robinson. Robinson was a great rebounder and shot blocker, in addition to being a great scorer. The man did put up 71 in a game. Show some respect.
dvs620 4 years ago
yeah that 71 was garbage it can't stack up to jordans 69 point game, david scored that many against a suck tema, and he did it to win a scoring title no very sportsman like.and in this video mike posterizes him twice lmao stay down giant
zopoundsakpase 4 years ago
SHUTUP AND STOP HATING ON GREAT PLAYERS! iHATE IT WHEN jORDAN FANS HATE ON OTHER NBA GREATS FOR DOING SOMETHING "Jordan like". So tell me do you think he shouldn't have scored 71 just to please jordan??? (keep in mind I too am a jordan fan!!)
princesspeace93 4 years ago
yea i made a pretty vague comment - but check out that dunk at 1:39 - i just think robinson is the closest oden-comparison thats out there - a crazy athletic center with an actual vertical leap
essquared24 4 years ago
To say that Robinson went after 71 for selfish reasons reasons is downright ignorant.
You're talking about a guy who's poured $11 million into his own charter school so he can give disadvantaged kids a chance at a good education in a safe learning environment.
On the court he took a back seat to Duncan even though Robinson was still in his prime. And he never complained about minutes or getting the ball.
dvs620 4 years ago
Im not labeling Robinson as selfish. Havin said that, it is a FACT the game was set for him to get enough points to take the scoring title. That u cant deny. So that was a forced situation. If MJ was challenged to go for 80 or 90 u think he wouldnt? Think again
rrTale 4 years ago
I think that 69 point game was an overtime game if I'm not mistaken. And sorry, anytime a player scores that many points, it's forced a bit. No matter how you slice it, you have to take tons of shots to get that many points. Even if you hit a high percentage of them, you still have to take a lot of shots to get there.
dvs620 4 years ago
Yes the 69pt game was in OT against Cleveland, MJ took 37 shots, not that many when u consider the amount of points, Robinson took 41 to score only 2 more points. The difference is MJ scored those points in the flow of the game and he took 37 shots in 50 minutes, i would hardly call that forcing. Robinson's game was set up, completly different.
rrTale 4 years ago
37 shots is still a lot. That's .536 points a shot. Robinson took 4 more shots to get two more points. That's .578 points a shot. So, how is one forcing it while the other wasn't? What I said was that if you score that many points, you're taking a lot of shots, right? And you proved my point, MJ took a lot of shots to get what he got. And so did DRob. That's all I said. What I'm pointing out is that MJ's and DRob's accomplishments are virtually the same.
dvs620 4 years ago
But MJ's was still more impressive, right?
dvs620 4 years ago
How many times do i have to say this. Robinson's game looses a lot of meaning just by the simple fact that it was set up from the beginning, it wasnt espontaneus. He took an awfull amount of shots in a 48 minute game just to get it. It didnt happen in the flow of the game like MJ's game did. If MJ played with the single goal of reachin 50 every night he would too.
rrTale 4 years ago
Getting 69pts in 37 shots its dam good let me tell u, That's over 60% FG with a variety of shots. I wonder why Robinson got a better FG% in his game..Oh i dont know maybe because he's a CENTER? Still MJ was 62% and Robinson 63%. Not that much of a difference. 37 shots in a game gone to OT is not by any means a lot.
rrTale 4 years ago
it was 34 shots not 37
zopoundsakpase 4 years ago
my bad it was 23 out of 37,still that shit is better than takin 41 shots like robinson did,who tried to win a scoring title, against shaq i believe and thats not selfish yeah fuckin right,at least jordan scored his points to try and win a game and looks like the bulls needed every last one of them, and the defensive ranking of the cavs was ten times that of the clippers,so whos effort was better,of course it was jordans
zopoundsakpase 4 years ago
but the fact is mj couldnt do it that's the whole point here robinson is a center taking outside shots robinson did way more things than jordan did face it moron robinson took his team to being into the playoffs every year you idiot
scotts30 4 years ago
Loose the attitude, im not offending anyone here. MJ couldnt do it? U can think that but only if u dont know better. MJ had 69 and Robinson 71 wow big dif, a couple more ft would do the trick. MJ has far more versatile game than Rob. Has Rob won 6 rings? NO. So wassup with the "Robinson did way more things than jordan" ludacris?
rrTale 4 years ago
be fuckin quiet bitch, jordan owned every center he went up against, did you like how mike dunked on robinson twice in this video that was hilarious wasn't it he should bettter you don't jump with jordaninhis prime you getdstroyedhe learned that lesson when shaq fucked him up in the allstar game, lmao bitch, gtfo of here asshole

airjordan4ever 4 years ago 2
Exactly. Once Jordan reached his peak, nobody could beat him at his peak until he retired.
utfanatic2000 4 years ago 2
So. Jordan took the Bulls took his Bulls to the playoffs every year too. So what are you talking about?
bobo0383 4 years ago
Oden is nowhere near Robinson's level though. Robinson was a much better rebounder and shot blocker than Oden has ever shown, and light years ahead of Oden on offense.
Plus, I've never seen Oden run with the guards the way DRob used to. Ewing is a much better comparison, although I doubt that's really a compliment.

AHHHH! I missed Jordan.

which "big man" has the best "per"?
basketballfreak24 5 years ago
MJ is #1 All-time at 27.92 PER. Shaq is #2 all-time at 27.82. Wilt had the single highest PER seasons at 32.12 and 31.79. MJ had 2nd highest PER season at 31.71.
hoopsencyclopedia 5 years ago
what is PER and where did u get that info? thx in advance
rrTale 5 years ago
PER is the efficiency stat. It measures offensive and defensive production and all FG%, 3FG% and FT% minus errors on a per minute basis. It is dominated by big men except for MJ - who is #1. The PER is the most referred to single number by coaches after every game to see who had a good game.

I'd say 88-92 was a period where both his physical and basketball skills were at their peak. That's when he was peerless as an entertainer. Of course, this isntt taking away what he was during the 2nd 3peat. I don't think some people have an idea of how darn quick MJ even in his mid 30's.
