This is not good. I was really hoping Ford would let the Explorer die with dignity as a true SUV. Instead, the name gets slapped on this rebodied Flex so it can writhe and squirm until it finally breathes its last agonized breath as an inferior FWD imitation SUV. I can't wait to see what the next Expedition looks like. It will probably be an Edge with a new grille. Ford is simply not thinking. People who buy Explorers want a real SUV, not some puny little FWD joke on wheels. Wake up Ford!!!
@tjhaywood100 No, people who buy Explorers want it to feel safe. Not even 10% of them will take it off road, so this generation of Explorer is perfect for the market.
@TheZachalope So? I don't take my '94 4x4 XLT off road very often. But it's nice to know that my real Explorer has the capability to go anywhere I NEED it to go. Should the need arise to go off-road or through the snow or mud or whatever may come, I know my true 4x4 Explorer with a low-range will take me there and back with no problems. I can't say that about the wrong-wheel-drive, front-biased part-time AWD 2011 Flexplorer. It's a sissy crossover. It ain't no SUV.

you can't explore shit with that minivan. Let me see you drive it in a mud hole and then I'll buy it.

It looks bigger than the current Explorer, but it's probably the camo that does it.
