The 800mhz is faster than the 1ghz one. mhz doesn't matter. a 1ghz processor can be slower then a 800mhz one, only if the 800mhz one is highly optimized. Which it is, that's why it's a lot faster.

Well I'm not trying to be biased orvanything, but I've overclocked my G2 and used setCPU to get the battery life to run just as long as it did, maybe even longer, then it did out of the box. N1 is still a great phone, but I haven't been able to get it to show scores as high as the G2. I'm just saiyan.

@dan1996DO you do realize that the G2 will also receive gingerbread right around the time the nexus one will get it. besides, its not about the number before the processor. its about the processor itself. sure, the speed does give some indication of what kind of performance you're gonna get. but a 2nd gen snapdragon processor is gonna be stronger than a 1st gen snapdragon.

@jugarnaut40 true, but they both skiped the cpu test so we can't tell forsure.concidering that they'll both get 2.3 at pritty much the same time means that we can't choose from a software percpective, leaving the different types of processors.the g2 may be 2 gen but i'm still not sure if that compensates for the slower cpu speed...

ofcourse you can overclock it to 2ghz but the battery will take the punishment.

@FalloutProductions1 G2 has over clocked at just under 1600mhps. Galaxy s is only about 1300 or so at best. Sure, it has a better resolution, I won't deny that. But overall, G2 > Galaxy s.

@mimi541 Well, yes and no. The hardware is the same except that the internal storage for the Desire Z is 2GB; the G2 has 4GB. Also, that "HTC Peep" is a part of the new HTC SenseUI, which is on the Desire Z. The G2 is running stock, or "vanilla" Android, so that widget won't be on the phone. However, you can still download your favorite twitter app and use THAT widget if you want.

Hmm is it me or does the G2's screen look better than the AMOLED on the nexus ? I've always thought the AMOLED on the Nexus one was the worst AMOLED ever, the blacks weren't deep or colors didn't blow you away like Samsung phones, but worse than a normal LCD, now thats embarrassing.
