i agree on the vibrato thing. it doesn´t suit the style as far as I hear it. it´s pop and it´s supposted to sound frank, direct and honest. the vibrato takes away the soul in my opinion. In MY opinion ;-)but it´s still beautiful!

When did vibrato become a technique that was exclusive to musical theatre? Silly me, I thought vibrato was what most voices do naturally as they age to produce a richer tone. Must have missed that part of my classical voice lessons ... whoops!
If you listen to the original cast, they do actually use some vibrato. However, as younger singers they may not have developed their full vibrato yet.
You could have just said you thought the vibrato was too heavy ... I disagree, but to each their own.

I think the vibrato ruins it a bit. The song is so beautiful and pure, that the vibrato tends to scream "We're doing musical theatre!"

actually he was about to go to Penn State, but he did national tour. He did get accepted to CMU but according to Natalie Weiss who went to Penn Sate, said that he was going to go to Penn State too.
