I miss riding this at Cedar Point. It was located right near the park entrance and was a great way to kick off the day, especially in the 2000s when the line was short because of people running to get in line for Millennium Force and TTD.

In the 80's this was considered an extreme ride!

Six Flags in gurnee, Il had this same ride in the mid 80's called the Edge...but it malfunctioned and some people died on it..So they torn it down as part a bad memory..I was little then but I would like to ride it here, but its leaving here too..Geez i'll catch it somewhere..

I miss it at Cedar Point as well. For those of you who want to send a msg to Cedar Point, I started a Facebook page called "Demon Drop Belongs at Cedar Point". I heard a lot of complaints of ppl missing the ride. They probably won't bring the original back, but perhaps if enough ppl express their love of the ride, they'll build a new version of the ride with 2011 technology bigger and better than the original at Cedar Point.

the scariest part of this ride was never the actual drop but the way it abruptly STOPS at the top. cuz your moving up pretty quick and all of a sudden you get air time cuz the damn thing comes to a hault. always scared the shit out of me. case in point: 0:10

There was a ride just like this at Six Flags over Texas called the Wildcatter, but they took it down a few years back (it wasn't the safest thing ever). It was an awesome ride and I'm really sad that it's gone, because what they put in its place really sucks.

I remember going to Six flags Great Adventure back in 2005 and as years went by they kinda got expensive in 2008 at around $75.00 to be exact. While there they had the Great American Scream Machine that in 2010 they toke it down due to height of the person and the bumpiness of the back of the train during the ride. Now being replaced by Green lantern which is a stand-up coaster( which I hated going on to).

It's a great ride, but I will be shocked if you dont have to wait more than an hour and a half on a wednesday, let alone a saturday. Mantis is also rly good, but make sure you listen to the people when they board you or you'll be hating life for a while

the very first 1st generation to get knocked down because of SF'S budget was the Sky Screamer at AstroWorld here in Houston. It was black and looked exactly like this except it made a siren sound just before you drop and had red tracer lights along the track at night.

Maybe when Six Flags and other parcks get their monies together they will gather all of these out of storage and put them back up over the country in addition to newer scarier rides!

Six Flags Great America (Gurnee, Illinois) had this ride back in the 80's. It was called The Edge! Took it out because people died when the car came off the track!

They should make a bigger version of this ride! Maybe with a height like that of Top Thrill Dragster. That would be a killer ride!
