@babylork You have to keep in mind that sound takes time to travel. Audience members at the back of an auditorium will have a slight delay in their audio processing compared to the people on stage. As a result, it sounds like their clapping is in time, to *them*, but on a recording from a soundboard, it will sound like the clapping is off-time.

Disappointing! Yes, tone in fast sections is going to be less luscious than in slower ones, but this just sounds grainy and grating. Other violinists put his technique, rhythm, and emotional interpretation to shame. So sad that amazing artists end up having lesser careers (or having to give up in order to make a living) because people are too busy being drawn in by glitzy good looks.
