  • I love the sound that they do with it... Te hissing/shhhhhh sound... Hilarious!

  • i think it may be showing a sign of affection it's called regurgitating when he moves his head up and down quickly

  • This Lorikeet is actually horny. It is behaving as they do when showing off to a mate.

  • my pet lorikeet sometimes does it when its excited or playful. exactly the same

  • Interpretive dancing lori lol!

  • haha that is the funniest thing i have ever seen in my life.

  • It's high and drunk at the same time!

  • MMMMMMMM, Fruit Loops

  • this is sooo cute !

  • They are not ridiculous you idiot.

  • My lory Reese does the same dance when I put my hand in his cage to change his water. It's the dance of love. lol

  • Lol, so cute! That's what lorikeets do when they are excited (and they are usually excited), exaggerate their movements. :)

  • He's just trying to impress a girl.

  • haha so funny

  • lol its interprital dance for the birds

  • This is normal for lories, I have two in a cage that hop around and do all sorts of crazy things.

  • I used the video function on my Canon Powershot S1 IS.

  • Its fun using the vid fuction on these cameras, but it hard playing with the apeture on your first go,

  • what type of camera did you use?

  • there not ridicolous there just naturals mad, crazy also :i

  • God it can dance!

  • I have a lori that does this, but it is aggressive territorial behavior. Its really quite funny actually! When he wants to keep me away from MY OWN food at the dinner table, he'll puff his feathers up and start hoping around

  • Funny. I have a rainbow lorikeet (same color) and she is doing several stuff just for fun. They are big clowns.

  • it does a mating behave to attract another bird.

  • Lol, cute! :D

I have a rainbow lorikeet (different subtype to that one) and that is normal lorikeet play. When they are excited, they exagerate their movements and go silly... too cute!

  • beautiful interesting bird.

  • Actually it's quite normal behavior. My lori does all the time. I guess he is trying to get my attention with it.

  • need some Barry white to this :P

  • "u could stop moving dude" lol

  • OMG this is hilarious.

Yes it does seem to be a mating dance. Mimics all the "roles" of birdie fatherhood, mating (via the pelvic thrust), bathing (health), play (ridiculous interpretive dance?), and feeding a mate (head bobbing).

Or maybe I'm just taking that way too seriously, and it's just being a total goofball. Lories are like that. LOL

  • ha great way to get attention

  • lol
