I'm learning this one now. I can't figure out whether to put left hand over right in that one sectionm. I've seen it both ways now on utube. My favorite rendition of this on utube is by Rachelk Flowers.. but I'm just an intermediate player, so can't really judge... Have you put utube for Clair de Lune that I could listen too?
Great interpretation! I think you really got the spirit of it. :-)
Please don't take this as some sort of trolling, but there're two things I didn't understand in your playing: all of the versions that I've heard and also the sheet shows that there are some triplets on the first notes of the melody, this version you play is different in that way or something?
Well this was a relief from most other videos that play it too fast :) It should be slow. People need to just calm down and take a breath. The realm of "high art", is so fanatic sometimes. Nice playing.
Debussy left us the gift of composing pieces like this one which in moments of reflection allow us as piano players to play slowly to absorb each note or to play aggressively and with more tempo to ride the waveof the song to it finale
Oh, way too slow and your piano is in dire need of proper tuning. It's a shame, as your rendition is otherwise very commendable. Please listen to a professional performance, adjust the tempo accordingly, have your piano tuned and then it's in your very capable hands.
Oh, way too slow. Tempo is 'Andantino sans lenteur'. And way too deliberate, needs to be more legato in order to simply flow. The initial theme should just wash over you, just like a dream. Piano needs tuning.
It's about how the musician interpretes the music, not how the componist wants it to be played...that's one of the biggest mistakes if you ask me. Everyone's always wining about the tempo and stuff, but if thís is what the musician thinks this song is about or if this is the feeling he has for the music that's perfect.
i really want to learn how to play this piece - im sorta a beginner player though. like i catch onto music fast though; should i attempt to learn this?!
Im only thirteen and just started this peace but i already realy like it!! I dont find it that hard actualy. I think that he plays it a little slow though.
im doing this for my piano final in school. i don't understand why it's so hard for me when i did all of moonlight sonata for my midterm and got an A+ on it...
i don't like your tempo(s). First i thought it was too slow at the beginning- i could hear each note in the left hand one-at-a-time when it should really be flowing, like a wave of notes just washing in as it starts- well, that's how i think of it when i play it
I love the part where the melody is divided over the left and right hand, you play that so well. I've tried that for a couple of weeks and still can't play that!
Hmm ... Piano needs a tuneup? This was nice, a few bobbles - I have a good ear. Although,I hardly play so I can't really say anything. Side note- that was cute how your head was reflecting off the wood.
Lost comment somewhere...anyway thank you for showing the left hand. I am learning to play piano and starting with this piece. I need to see technique to accomplish what I set out to do.
You have great feeling when you play, but I do have to say that you sometimes hold the petal too long and it muddles the notes together. I have a problem with this myself, which is why I saw it so easily. Other than that, it's great!
a very good one for my study reference, saved into my list. Thank you for posting, I started learning this one a couple of weeks ago. it's a joy to watch you play!
i believe you play beutifully, the tempo might have to be adjusted though. You have to catch better the emotion so it wil sound like a river of fast flowing water...
The late romanticism of the French composers such as Debussy's Arabesque No. 1 created the transition from romanticism to impressionism, influencing both art and music.
An absolutely perfect performance of this classic. Very beautiful. Thank you.
I find the tempo for section A too slow, making that part drag on. As well, the pedaling could be a bit cleaner. Other than that, nice job.

I don't mind the speed at all - it's a nice change. But yeah, the poor piano is too out of tune to do your playing justice :).

I actually liked it. I thought it was good but it just needs some adjustments made though.

@RBSalatino Thank you for the comment. About playing triplets, I guess I made a mistake playing slower than usual. It happens~-.-

I think he played it slow enough to show expression, however the piano is badly out of tune.
