  • I first heard this song in the late '60's-i'd forgotten it.Great song.

  • What a stunning debut! For a teenager to have written, and performed with such maturity - wow! I sincerely wish she was still around, but in a way, I'm also thankful that she got her start back in the '60s - when actual talent was what was in demand - she was never forced to use autotune software, or had to dress up like a mighty morphin' power ranger to get people's attention. Man, I wish I had a time machine!

  • laura was an angel. her voice gives me tingles just like the first time i heard her. there will NEVER be another laura.

  • I love this song and her 1969 live at Kraft Music Hall version of Save the Country.

Laura Nyro would be 64 this year had she lived.

  • Re: elirosen1391 --before Lady Gaga's transformation, with her long dark hair, playing piano, image-wise, she reminded me a bit of Laura, for whatever that's worth. Meanwhile, it's music like Laura's that is timeless and touches the heart. It remains to be seen how Lady Gaga's work holds up over time.

  • Loads better than Lady Gaga! And if this song makes you feel like you may go blowin' away, give this comment a thumbs up!

  • Ohhhhhh my god, her voice is so fucking orgasmic.

  • Laura does not need the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame . Her music was pure art

  • @ldeleon337 True, but as there IS a Hall of Fame, don't you think her talent deserves to be recognised in such? Especially considering who else is in there.

  • Forty plus years later, it still sounds fresh and new.

  • @jrothke SURE DOES!! and i feel like im gliding every time she sings "I FEEL SO HIGH, I FEEL LIKE I MAY, GO BLOW BLOW BLOWIN AWAYYYYYYY.........

  • STONE SOUL!!!!!!

  • Yes, she really could sing. The live performances show her nervous and wavering off key. But the studio recordings tell true story. Thanks.

  • what a voice!!!

  • Laura's music remains the gift of a truly remarkable woman. I had the honor and pleasure of meeting her when she played two different dates at a club I owned in the early '90's. Those were magical nights.

  • @Cappy609 I wish I could have been there. Thanks for your note. Gives life to Laura.

  • I just recently discovered the music of this amazing lady. It's been a long time since I've heard music that moved me like hers does. Truly a once in a lifetime artist. thanks Laura R.I.P

  • I feel so high

    I feel like I may

    go blowin' away

  • Hey, I think this album was released in 69" or 68'.

  • I believe you're right!

  • First released in '67 but was rereleased in '73

  • @neverforeverkate 1966. Reissued in 1973. Eli and the 13th Confession was released in 1968 and New York Tendaberry was in 1969.

  • beautiful!what more can I say?

  • she was a masterful composer and singer too. lots of soul and creativity in this one. she crafted many gems, some of which went on to become huge hits for other artists. let's hope she got some credit too!

  • can anyone post "Goodbye Joe"?

  • Bravo!......This is a very good song............
