Even so though, that theory would explain why he was trapped in one of the items in Jamal's attic. Also, consider the other key piece of supporting evidence: Ghostwriter is old enough that he doesn't know what a computer is or what the FBI is. That means that he must have lived a fairly long tiime ago.
