Your right, I can't tell the difference between the wooden pipes and the plastic pipes, they sound the same. Plastic is about as dense as any exotic hardwood and it produces nice tonal qualities. Swedish pipes made from less dense woods such as birch or cherry sound a bit more buzzy than the hard woods or the plastic.
Since this recording was done on a digital camera, its best heard at half volume. I hope to get some recordings done in the near future with some professional equipment so the wonderful tonal quality of these pipes can be heard closer to its true form.
Can you tell me where to get those plastic reeds ? they sound very great !

Are the reeds plastic as well or do you use Cane in these?
