You are so lucky to have events like this! Here in Canada there is so much pressure to be mainstream and like everybody else; the fact that this is popular in the Netherlands makes me proud to be Dutch and want to get more in touch with my heritage :)

@TheBritishTexan Nobody ever dresses up like Haldir, Gil-galad, Elrohor, Elladan, Celeborn, Thranduil, Lindir, Glorfindel or Erestor =( Or perhaps they do but because of the undefined appearance of these Elves (except for Haldir) they're not recognisable? Hmm don't know, I'd love to dress as an High Elf =) I've seen an occasional Elrond in the past, some Legolases, a few Galadriels and I think one Arwen.

@Loepsie, Awesome! I could not do justice to the home of Lord Elrond. Which is why I am settling for the home of the Horse Lords greatest features. Now only if I could get Eomer in my room as well, or Boromir (Who will never be dead in my mind.) I will take a giant rock and place Excalibur in it, and of course write the inscription. Every great blade has an inscription *coughNarsilcough* What is your take on Glorfindel of Imladris, and Glorfindel of Gondolin? AH, obsessions are they just swell?

@TheBritishTexan I believe that both Glorfindels are the same person, if that's what you meant. I like the story of Glorfindel of Gondolin better than his seccond life though =P I agree with you that every blade needs an inscription =) Some obsessions are creepy, Tolkien obsessions are just awesome ;)

@HaSa0906 It's held twice every year in the Netherlands. You have to pay for a ticket

@HaSa0906 This fair is held in Haarzuilens in April (2011; the 16th and 17th) and in Arcen in September. You have to pay for a ticket (you can buy one at the fair itself) and you can also choose to stay in a bungalow close to the fair, which you will have to pay for too, of course, but then you can stay a full week in the Netherlands and also go somewhere else before or after the fair, I think this will be easier and cheaper for you since you live in Mexico ;)

@mogster666  It was a performance at the scifi spot =P And yeah, many people just dress goth, but that's completely understandable. It's not common here to dress goth at all, I've never seen anyone dress extreme in RL. It's really different from the USA where there are extreme goth kids everywhere =P So people use this opportunity to dress like they've always wanted to, and often that's goth. With some fantasy thrown in ;) EFF actually say that they're fantasy, manga, gothic, scifi and medieval.

@Loepsie LOL I don't know about USA but Goth is not common in Canada either! You really don't see that many people walking around looking super goth, sometimes just some black hair and chains but not fully dressed up!

@black5497 Loads =D There's a stand owned by the 'Tolkien Shop' and theres 'Fellow Ship', kind of an reenactment group and then there's a lot of people dressed up as LotR characters and lots of little things sold at individual stands =)
