yea i forgot about it also till just know..I cant believe it seeing the hours upon hours of my life went into...once i heard the music it was nostalgia bliss lol...soo frigging hard if i remember right..might of only beat it once or twice.
games were so different back them..you could play them forever and never get boarded with them ..well some of them lol..use to leave the intro running just to hear the song lol
I agree. Awesome piece - I was always so jealous of everything about this - arrangement, sounds, musicality - the lot. All Rob 'lifted' was the basic theme - something we were all guilty of, but the piece is so much more than that. Hats off, as ever.
Once I heard than Hubbard "stole" the song from Audion i was a bit disappointed - but only for a short time: until I heard the "original" version! It ("Shibolet") is such an uninspired, boring piece of s***! Hubbard took it miles away. Face it, Audion, it´s now Hubbards song, not yours!
The album is called Audion. I finally found the original song "Shibolet" and I have to say that Hubbard really improved on it, added some structure and diversity. One of the best C64 tunes ever.
Now where's that Curse of the Azure Bonds theme song..
Ah, yes, Audion. Don't know why I was thinking Albion. Anyway, I do think the Hubbard arrangement is better than the original, but was surprised to learn the Master of Magic tune (easily one of my favorites on the C64) was a cover
It's certainly not the first time Hubbard or Galway copied music, the theme to the game Lightforce is another synergy tune. The game I-Ball has hubbard doing Cabaret Voltaire and of course Galways Yie Ar Kung Fu music was a direct copy of a very popular Jean Michael Jarre track.
Rob Hubbard made a lot of songs I loved, but Master of Magic was my favorite one. Thanks for the upload. Now all I need is a longplay of this, since I had never been able to finish the game...
i'd have sex to this :)

what a legend! I used to buy C64 games if they had Rob Hubbard tracks in even if the game itself was crap! All hail the Hubbard!

What an awesome piece of music, Rob Hubbard was a master of music for the C64, pity there aren't soundtracks like this now!

LOLZ!!!!! I remember this game for 25 years ago, graphics have massively improved since then, but the music of this era is original and unsurpassed.
Thanks for upload.

THIS should be the indisputable #1 C64 soundtrack ever. It really is the daddy.

The game was challenging - especially because there was no Save feature. And this theme song is EPIC

Agree. Hubbard took the basic idea and improved it a great deal.

This 'original' Hubbard tune is an arrangement of the track 'Shibolet' off the album Albion by Synergy

I agree. There's no doubt that Hubbard was, ahem, INSPIRED by it, but his piece is much more interesting musically.
