@RomancesyBoleros Antes de Cuba el bolero existio en Republica Dominicana llamada Bolero Ritmico ( tambien el antecedente del Son), antes de Dominicana en el sur de España existio un bolero gitano. Ese "primer bolero" del 1886 era el primer bolero en Cuba pero ya el bolero existia. En otras palabras, Pepe Sanchez le dio un sabor Cubano alo ya extistente. Como ya les he dicho tantas veces, la musica viaja y evoluciona no es de nadie y sin embargo es de todo el mundo.

Yes it was started by CUBANS and PUERTO RICANS hence the name Neworkicans. Don't be so xenophobic against other cultures, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Sur America, they're all latino counties and all share the passion for salsa, but it's also an international dance shared by many countries.

Gracias a Nueva York, la Salsa nacio con mas tempo para poder bailarse asi de rapido, el baile tambien es mas lijero y "atletico". Esto no sonaba asi, ni se bailaba asi de sabroso en los años 50. Your WRONG. I never said salsa was born in Puerto Rico, It was actually born in New York by Puerto Ricans mixing Son, Jazz, R&B, etc. Its not Cuban either. But I am still right, the true Salsa Kings are the people I mentioned. Your also WRONG cause Joe Arroyo is Colombian, Oscar De Leon is Venezuelan and Ruben Blades is from Panama, not a "bunch of Puerto Ricans". Celia Cruz sang guarachas in cuba, she started Salsa when she moved to New York. You seem to be very WRONG in everything you say.

@ELqueLEmeteDURO Johnny was a good director, but the musicians and innovators of old cuban sounds to new hybrid sounds were all mostly BORICUAS...Eddie Palmeri mixed 60's Jazz with old cuban sounds, Richie Ray y Bobby Cruz added pop and classical to what Eddie already added and Willie Colon removed Saxo and replaced them with trumbones, added R&B to the Son section. The tempo was accelareated, ect. THEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING NEW WITH SOMETHING OLD... SALSA !!! This happened mainly in NEW YORK.

@RomancesyBoleros Antes de Cuba el bolero existio en Republica Dominicana llamada Bolero Ritmico ( tambien el antecedente del Son), antes de Dominicana en el sur de España existio un bolero gitano. Ese "primer bolero" del 1886 era el primer bolero en Cuba pero ya el bolero existia. En otras palabras, Pepe Sanchez le dio un sabor Cubano alo ya extistente. Como ya les he dicho tantas veces, la musica viaja y evoluciona no es de nadie y sin embargo es de todo el mundo.

@ELqueLEmeteDURO La mayoría de los músicos cubanos de los años 50's hablan de este período de los inicios de la Salsa con muchísimo malestar. Para ellos, simplemente, se había acabado la buena música comercial llamada "cubana" y en su lugar se tocaba ahora un desorden que utilizaba al Son, como trapo de cocina. Y en efecto, estos años le resultaron ser excesivamente duros y torturosos a esos viejos músicos. Así resumió en su libro sobre los origenes de la Salsa, Cesar Miguel Rondón (1979)

@ELqueLEmeteDURO man so much hatred - el Son Cubano yes came from Cuba y tambien la guaracha y el guaguanco etc. Salsa started in NY which was a fusion of Son, Guaracha, Pachanga y Guaguanco with a fusion of swing. Yes it was started by CUBANS and PUERTO RICANS hence the name Neworkicans. Don't be so xenophobic against other cultures, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Sur America, they're all latino counties and all share the passion for salsa, but it's also an international dance shared by many countries.

@Mambero75 Incorrecto,Salsa was a comercial name given to Cuban music in New York by the ones that copied and or adopted Cuban music,in the 40's Arsenio Rodriguez alrady mixed the Montuno with other Cuban styles of music,he introduced even electric guitar to his band,in the 50's BEnny More did the same,Roberto Faz also,all this way before than this music was called "salsa" the Son played by Cuarteto Patria by the 30's does not sounds like Adalberto Alvarez y su Son but is Cuban SON.

@RomancesyBoleros Cuba has a strong musical heritage. It inherited from las hermanas ginez, dos negras libres de la Republica Dominicana, that brought to Cuba,"Son de la Loma". Then Cubans started playing Son and gave it their own flavor. Bolero came from southern Spain, las Habaneras were originally european contradanzas that Cuba also made theirs by evolving it. Rhumba is a deviation of African rythms like most caribean music. Trova also has roots in Spain.

Salsa is a mixture of cuban son, guaracha, jazz (harlem style) not cuban style, R&B, more tempo, Baby Bass, merengue, seis tumbao, Samba,etc. Nada es puro to no country, its LATIN and from many places, take your ignorant communist attitude back to your island and please, READ, education helps the brain .

He starts with how nice Havana is and screams Cuba then he becomes repetitive. All he's saying really is, "Darling, how I like you, how I like your thing" with diminutive [ex. instead of Angle, Angie] and he repeats that again and again but who cares because the beats so great?! ^_^ Cubans can really dance, and he's repeating the chorus of typical salsa songs, and he also says that he likes it when she dances without inhibition.
