abalone is not hard to find. well not in Seattle anyway which is 3 hours south of BC. You can pretty much go to any asian market that sells fresh seafood and they will most likely have it. It is a delicacy and is less common but not rare. and not illegal. I would say its as common as geo duck except geo duck can be caught here in the pacific NW

i live near Seattle, WA its roughly 2.5 hours from Vancouver, BC.. if your in Puyallup, WA there is a GREAT Traditional sushi bar me an my wife visit almost twice a week it is less than $20 per person for all you can eat maki or nagiri. and its actually a sushi bar.. Paradise Sushi in PUYALLUP,WA

I don't mean to put a damper on your video or people enjoying their dinner, but one thing I want to point out so badly is that this restaurant definitely run by non-Japanese.

I am surprised how rude the waitress put plates and bowls on the table. She clattered dishes loudly. In Japan, restaurant owners never make their employees serve like her even when they hire foreigners. If you want to find a real Japanese restaurant, you should listen the clatter sound carefully.

This place is run by Chinese. No offense but it is not authentic. Neither in style nor in treatment of customers. As a hardcore sushi fan group we banned the place from our list of potential restaurants. Vancouver has a lot more to offer. On all you can eat: Japanese cuisine traditionally suggest you should only eat until you are 70% full and focus on quality. Good luck with that here.

Tomokazu sucks!!! If you want to have good Sushi go to Sushiyama on East Broadway in the Broadway/ Kingsway area and I guarantee you the best sushi experience ever! It's kind a little bit pricey but all their ingredience are super fresh (unlike Tomokazu) and it will make your knees buckle I swear!
