That's just the same as Michel Waltrip's dreadful accident years ago ? That's ridiculous. If you're going to have a gate it must be a strong point - not a weak point. It should be an overengineered sliding structure built around three heavy horizontal 5" X 5" X 3/8" box sections or the like. Placing a gate that a car car break through and punch into the end of e concrete wall is just insane. Track owners should consider their own liability if the drivers' safety doesn't matter to them.

Only in NASCAR would you take a 4 door, FWD, V6 with an automatic transmission and turn it into a 2 door, RWD, V8, with a manual and still be able to call it STOCK!!! Not to mention Chevy is the only one of the manufacturers that still makes a pushrod V8.

I can't say I watch F1, but I do respect the technology behind it. I also respect Chevy's pushrod V8 (Gen III/IV, LS series) development. But NASCAR is still a complete joke.
