This should not be regarded as a novelty - the technology existed back in the 80s to do this effectively, if not before. It's like a cure for cancer - something they will never allow the masses to have, because it reduces their ability to control. And, btw, I hope I'm wrong about that.

if solar cars would be designed to have long broad flat roofs. (say 1.8 by 3.5 meters.

and a reasonably flat front (to not increase wheelbase too much) that would leave massive room for solar panels.

ps why do'nt you have solar panels on the car itslef? its front and roof should be susceptible am i correct?

If that car will be issued here in my country, we might as well bring back the horse and carriage that we were using four decades ago, and that would be much more practical... other than building these things. How much does it cost building those solar panels compared to buying feed for a horse?
