  • Nice video, thanks for sharing. Glad you boat was not to badly damaged. I attached a video of so lazy sailing from across the pond ;0)

  • Glaveston Marina - Yea, things are not going as fast as anyone hoped for. It's a money issue. Before IKE they had 650 boats. After the storm, I heard there were less than 150. I think it's back up to between 250 and 300. The faster the marina can get filled back up, the better for everyone. It's still the best place on the Gulf Coast. Wish we could figure a way to get the club house going again.....

Land & Sea - Good guys... Don't Forget - BOAT stands for "Bring On Another Thousand".

  • A Flicka, what a bummer...

  • The fact that my Flicka had very minor, cosmetic damage, is a testament to the construction of the Flicka.

  • I see you used Land And Sea to put your boat back in. They got my boat off Dock D and Back in perfect. Land & Sea does really good work. Before the storm GYB was full. They are still doing repairs but things are starting to look good. This is the best place on the TX Gulf Coast to keep your boat. They have lots of slips available now. If you are tired of the crowds in Clear Lake and want to be close to pretty water, Galveston Yacht Basin is the best thing going.

  • I also used Land & Sea. Expensive as hell though! The marina is just ok now. They are not doing any major improvements or repairs and have little regard for their paying tenants! Electricity is still not restored on some slips and they discontinued security patrols on the West row. Greedy Bastards!

  • I am glad you weathered the storm. We were thinking of moving over that way with our boat. Looks like it might be a good idea to wait a while..

    Carl

  • Actually, It looks like boats fared better in Galveston than they did in the Clear Lake area. Plenty of empty slips and they are free for a while. Otherwise, there is a very long wait.

  • beautiful boat, glad to see there was so little damage.

  • i cant believe this happened nice boat my uncle has a gulfstar we kept it in galvestion marina but we ran to mexico with it and have no where to go back to

  • Thanks for commenting. Be glad you missed the action here. Actually, there are very many empty slips now that most of the boats are trashed. So, come on back.
