@tfuller87 Looked to me like there was 1 of each from left to right: Hispanic, Asian, white, black. Carl Carlton's version of the Rainbow Coalition before the gays hijacked the word "rainbow."
@jd7779311 Come to think of it, I was thinking along the same lines of "these girls aren't very built or stacked at all. B cups at best." Still they're hot.
In 1981 black women were still considered ugly, by white society, you know full lips, big breast, small waist, and an Onion that made grown men weep. In other words all the SHIT they credit J lo ass, and I do meean low for having now. That why there is a skinny lil asian woman on this.
Not that "black women" were unattractive, or that they are suddenly attractive. What is considered beauty, like fashion, changes. Look at videos by Cameo, Lionel Ritchie, Freddie Jackson- beautiful women by the standards of their day. None of them look like they came out of Lil Wayne video. Some call these too skinny, some say Wayne's women too heavy. Diffrent strokes Kim Basinger made big lips popular. She wasn't the first, but she made them appealing to the masses.
The song is bangin. This video SUX!! lol and them girls had absolutely NO rhythm and would it have killed them to put women with actual BODIES in the video?? Sheesh!
@mariocarnival Not before. I listened to the radio constantly, in those days (even left it on all night with headphones). I was in the 8th grade when this was released ('81), no doubt about it.
Good Fuckin'...Goddamn! This is the best video ever. Easily one of my favorite songs of all time. He can sing his face, so much soul. Video was cheap and budget, the way it should be. Because it's music first, right? R&B singers nowadays have no blues in their voices. If you can't sing Black American Gospel music, your R&B will be mediocre. That's where the best R&B and soul singers get their start. Givin' honor and glory to the poster.
yet another example of good music you can dance to with out the "look at me" factor. so all these rappers and so called R&B artists got bentleys and ice, so f'en what, they are rich! like we dont know they got that sh*t!
Awesome clip! Totaly added to my favourites I LOVE this song but Ive never seen video for it it was so cool! I love his "funky" moves, this clip made me smile, great video thanks for sharing! :)
let's "chill" with the rasism stuff not ALL Blacks "love" White people...I get so excited feeling her anatomy..she's got all the cureves a man likes..i see beautifull women
I appreciate you come from an area where there is still a lot of racism, it must be very tough to deal with, but making racist comments yourself is not going to help. Those of us who are not racist need to set an example and show we wont tolerate it and enjoy seeing people of all colors, whether they be male or female, having fun together as in this video. It makes no difference what time period you were commenting on, interracial relationships have always been around.
Yes I know American history, but it's the twenty first century now and about time people in America were more relaxed and accepting of interracial issues. I found your comments quite racist. Apart from anything else most if not all music videos we see today featuring black male artists have black women in them. So making a comment over a rare sighting of white women in a black artist's video is even more ridiculous for that reason.
Baby I'm from the South.Family from Mississippi and Louisiana. I have white friend in a town where the KKK still meets. Just recently a cutout of Barack Obama was hanging from a tree with rope around its neck. I ain't saying everyone is racist, but it is foolish to say its all gone. I was commenting on the time period...not now.
Tell it sista! From Louisiana myself -- people just don't understand. We want it to be color blind but it just ain't. Until people change their hearts and minds themselves -- it will never be there -- a color blind society.
