  • Jack Webb's mother was American Indian and Irish. That Irish is what made him so good at presenting himself as a fighter. That Indian is what made him surefooted and unprejudiced. His father was Jewish. That's what made him secretly tenderhearted and a genius.

  • Most of Jack Webb's subsequent TV shows ("Adam-12", "Emergency") were also based on actual cases with, again, the names changed "to protect the innocent".
