  • really really interesting.

  • you have some great stuff here

  • very interesting thanks

  • really informative and interesting

  • interesting video and very informative

  • I love this channel.

  • Sun : *buuuurp*

  • Nice.. Do you know what the estimated size of the flare was?

  • such footage.. brilliant

  • maybe if you showed the replay in a few more colors i'd be able to understand whats going on here

  • @Chr0mePisto1a LMFAO

  • Wow! Nicely put together!

  • Simply put: AWESOME! Our Sun is indeed a STAR.! :)

  • did you noticed the massive shockwave!?

  • @Neton16 Simply stunning! The contrast on the shock wave is particularly striking in the 171A bandpass.

  • So why do we have an energy crisis here ? !!!

  • Should have used the John Murphy score (Adagio in D minor)

  • Make SURE you have the CC button on when you watch. Fantastic!

  • Incredible.

  • BLAME IT ON AL GORE !

  • Please can someone help to ID the music artist

  • BLAME GLOBAL WARMING!

  • wow! Excellent video.

  • nice video

  • old....

  • @newdawnhungary The sun is very old, yes.

  • Spectacular, and a little frightening!

  • was this the actual speed?

  • @majorm1 nope. it was filmed during couple hours, taking a picture once/min

  • What would happen if I was at the beach?

  • Nice informative video. Thanks for sharing with us.

  • This is awesome. I just love stuff that has to do with space. Thanks for posting.

  • omg... is sun okay?

  • real cool! how often does this occur on the sun?

  • any1 know what class of MCE that was?

  • This: ULTIMATE POWER! Thanks for posting! ;-)

  • nice..no dislikes..

  • Simply amazing...

  • @jjoneil73 ;-) Exactly! ;-)

  • anyone know if that is in real time or if its elapsed?

  • @silverspirit2001 listen man .. Ur right it was sarcasm. As I'm browsing YOUTUBE leaving comments, you pick up on ma sarcasm. You fill ur boots with massive eruptions. At end of day it looks amazin. Why yous tryin to explain it anyway. Obviously it's gases on a massive scale exploding from the sun.....

  • I think the resolution is just amazing!

  • Oh no the nutrinos will arrive on 12/12/2012 from this eruption....lol..incredible

  • @scduk100 That is either sarcasm or showing complete idiocy.

PS its neutrinos. Near massless particles going at near light speed....SO arrived just after 6 minutes from the coronal mass ejection. Except coronal mass ejections are not associated with CRMs.

  • @scduk100 Its Neutrino, amigo! ;-)

  • Fascinating stuff. It appears that a lot of the energy is sucked back into the sun. I have read many books on how the sun works but none have anywhere near come close to satisfy my mind. The sun is a great wonder that will kill us all in the end.Great video.

  • @AMikeOnLine no it wont we will move further away as the sun grows into a red giant the mass of the sun moves farther away and so the warp of space will be less and the earth will move out further way out and we will then send earth in to outer space with our domes to protect the people and live partely underground. im from the future and im not well, to much traveling in time.

  • @AMikeOnLine The source of POWER and ENERGY, amigo! lol This is ULTIMATE! ;-)

  • PENSÉ QUE LUEGO DE CARL SAGAN NADA ME ATRAPARÍA TANTO NI ME SORPRENDERÍA COMO EN AQUELLAS NOCHES DE VERANO EN LA DÉCADA DE LOS 80´ . QUE EN PAZ DESCANSE Y DISFRUTE ALLÍ A DONDE PERTENECE. EN SU COSMOS.

  • Interesting, Thank You People.

  • amazing..

  • Awesome, look forward to see something bigger.

  • Absolutely incredible! An amazing flare in itself, but top it with a view of it such as we've never had before.

  • What is the piece of music used in this video ?

  • @Steaphany very Finest of music...I must concur...beautiful score...I love it! ;-)

  • It would be better with a narrator or just silence. I had to turn sound on and off during the video since I couldn't stand the music but didn't want to miss any voice message.

I also hate the intro and ending.

  • I'm working on my tan. -D

  • @LukeCoulson Lol make sure u talk to doctor cos that tan might also give you cancer :) I dont think you want a 2nd head on you :)

  • This was the super flare of mid June. The surface area affected by the eruption was immense and very interesting to see, but the amount of plasma sent on a trajectory into space escaping the Sun's gravity was also huge (nearly as big as a planet or moon). It missed us entirely... but if it didn't? well...

  • Damn NASA, you scary. LOL

  • Music & Video... Awesome!!

  • @korzen321 YUP! ;-)

  • PLEASE tell us more about the upcoming SOLAR MAXIMUM in 2012... Will world wide power be disrupted??

  • @BRANSCOMBEx Actually, scientists are amazed of the fact that the Sun will seeming go into an unusually passive mode for the next several years

  • @BRANSCOMBEx

It's all comes down to whether the combination of conditions come together to create a "perfect storm". The only difference between Solar Maximum and Solar Minimum is the probability or frequency of events. At any day at any time, if the Sun emits a CME of sufficient intensity directly at the Earth we could have a technological disaster as global power and electronic systems succumb to the onslaught of the CME interacting with the Magnetosphere.

  • @BRANSCOMBEx The next solar maximum is currently predicted for late 2013 or 2014. Solar maximum is usually associated with a higher rate of coronal mass ejections, which can indeed cause electrical disruptions to an unprotected power grid. But satellites such as ACE give advance warning of CMEs, and utility companies can then power down the grids to protect them.

  • @NASAexplorer Will this end the earth joke does it get rid of the internet ?

  • with this video, we can save planet earth from global warming!

  • So does this mean that we are due another Northern Lights display sometime soon?

  • @HarryHayfield nop this was a few days back. This Eruptions take less than days to reach the magnetosphere of the earth.

  • hot

  • BEUTIFULL

  • @ginodelia I love your comment! ;-)

  • @advantage73 THE POWER THAT GIVE LIFES .

  • @ginodelia nahh, the other comment! LOL! J/K Amigo! I think you mean "Lives"...lol ;-) Btw, thanks for your feedback! ;-)

  • WOW!

    Bravo!!!

    NASA Rocks!

    Thumbs up!

  • why do's the sun look so dark ????

  • @eric0u812 the surface of the sun is the coldest (if you could call it that)..

  • i like how they show you the wavelength

  • 10-th

  • @darthukas congrats!

  • @toastsandwich Thank you!

  • Epic video. Name of music please?

  • @TrigonJilad The music is actually two tracks: In The Beginning and In The Beginning Remix 2. Both are from stockmusic-dot-net.

  • So awesome

  • That's amazing

  • Those particles must have spread over billions and billions of miles

  • That is beautiful

  • @TheKatuotasBatinas Yes, it is! ;-)

  • 4th

  • absolutly spectacular...

  • @coastal455 very humbling as well...;-)

  • 2st...

  • 1st
