@neilp77 OK punk i just measured my thighs for the first time in my life they are 60cm(23.6inches) at 5'10''.I havent worked on my legs for aprox 2 weeks and of course unpumped.I also have average legs in term of length(not long like arnolds).I ve been liftinng for 1.5 years now,and never trained legs before this autumn(and the workouts are not hard 15-20+ rep range).They re already prettty darn big.

@TheLusianPopa I'm well aware that it takes more than legs to win contest--now. X-shape (the champs today) have replaced the Y-shaped (Arnold). Wide shoulders, wide back, flared thighs, reasonably small waist, big calves are a hallmark of a superior BB. Arnold was missing some of those.

People like Arnold and others in his day opened the door to what is known today as modern bodybuilding. As with ANY sport or form of competition, as time goes on things advance and change as progression takes place. Just look at dirt bike racing from the 70's compared to now. A modern day racer is WAY faster then any 70's racer was but again, they opened the door to make it possible. Same goes for bodybuilding in respecting those who started it and those that carry it on.

@neilp77 OK punk i just measured my thighs for the first time in my life they are 60cm(23.6inches) at 5'10''.I havent worked on my legs for aprox 2 weeks and of course unpumped.I also have average legs in term of length(not long like arnolds).I ve been liftinng for 1.5 years now,and never trained legs before this autumn(and the workouts are not hard 15-20+ rep range).They re already prettty darn big.

@TheLusianPopa I'm well aware that it takes more than legs to win contest--now. X-shape (the champs today) have replaced the Y-shaped (Arnold). Wide shoulders, wide back, flared thighs, reasonably small waist, big calves are a hallmark of a superior BB. Arnold was missing some of those.

Dorian Yates crushes Ronnie and Arnold. Yes, Arnold is a pioneer that carved the path for others to follow, but Arnold's physique is amature compared to many, and especially to Dorian's or Ronnie's. Ronnie Coleman is massive, but he looks like he was dipped in Wesson Oil and come across all shiny and blubbery. Dorian Yate's dry, grainy, hard thickness is just a class above that dipped in oil look.

Ronnie coleman though is one of the top ten greatest athletes of all time too dorians up around there too dorian did it with blood guts, but arnold lifted six hours a day most bodybuilder workout and 1 and half hours a day at most, the steriod DECA increase muscel recovery time but thats big time overtraining still but its just hard not to admire that sort of heart and deterimination thats what makes ARNOLD the GREATEST

Here's how I see it...
People like Arnold and others in his day opened the door to what is known today as modern bodybuilding. As with ANY sport or form of competition, as time goes on things advance and change as progression takes place. Just look at dirt bike racing from the 70's compared to now. A modern day racer is WAY faster then any 70's racer was but again, they opened the door to make it possible. Same goes for bodybuilding in respecting those who started it and those that carry it on.
