LOL, if i've never seen the original and i found this trailer, i would think this was one of those movies that are creepy-ish w/ a weirdo stalker person...I enjoyed this, good job :)
actually youre pretty good! pure talent. the beginning started out a bit weird but from then on it was hilarious! im still amazed how you guys can twist a story like that! hilarious! where did you come up with the whole stalker idea?
Thanks alot. I wanted to make one just to learn the process, so I just went through my (wife's) DVD collection and thought there were enough smouldering looks in this one to change the genre.
It works, and yet it doesn't. Could've replaced the voiceover with just words on the screen. I thought this was pretty good, but... just not good enough. You know? 3stars, respectively.
I think it's great! It's amazing what some judicious editing can do. =D I'd just change the narration to text and try to make the voices from the film louder since I could barely hear them.
I agree with your comments but don't think I'll be revisiting this project. My students have completed their trailers and some have done a really good job.
Dvd decryptor. It imported perfectly (though after a long wait) into Sony Vegas 7. I don't think it imported into Premiere Pro 1.5, but I'm sure there'd be codecs to allow this.
The trailer is VERY good, but I'll have to suggest for you to change the narration to text. You can make it like in the ATONEMENT trailer and it would look nice. However, I'll strongly suggest no narration, due that it will always sound bad, no matter how much times you make it over.
I know that due that you have to talk over some ambient sound and it sounds weird. My Digital Video Production teacher says that its best to use Text in stuff like trailers rather than narration because its very tricky to keep the ambient and the narration without having to mute the ambient or making them go against each other.
I'd actually got sick of working on it and just wanted to post it, but I'm not at all happy with the title as it is now. The color needs to change as well. I'll check out Felix Titling, but I was thinking I might need a creepier font than the original.
I actually agree with you but the problem is that so much of the tying together of clips is in the narration (which would equate to a lot of text).... I'll keep pondering over it though. Thanks for the comment.
Good point, lafillenoir. This is a rough cut and re-recording the narration is high on my job list. Please check for the new version in a week or two and let me know what you think.

Haha, I found completely that entertaining because it is so far from the original, yet you made it work!
Are your students' videos posted someplace to see?

Not yet. Some of theirs are way better than mine. Next term I'll remind some of them to chuck them online.
Thanks for the post.

Well, it would be much better without the naration because we don't need it. Other than that, it was really good!

What DVD ripper did you use to get the footage?

I do think it's pretty good, it could be better but for a first try it isn't bad.
Gook luck for future attempts

Also, not to be mean, but use a different font. I'll suggest Felix Titling, since its very similar to the original P&P font. ^_^

YES!!!
The font *definitely* needs to change.

a bit dull, the voice over is very monotone.
