  • 4:21 "You have now come face to face with my will"

Slater looks genuinely enthralled throughout and I think in the commentary he is reportedly genuinely enthralled although seems unlikely unless the speech was recorded entirely in real time...

  • To the moron Bush hater--are you incapable of even commenting on a fictional movie (pretty good movie) without polluting the forum with your rancorous hatred for George W. Bush? It's a pretty pathetic symptom of a wretched and miserable individual who can't see past his hatred even when discussing a movie speech by Jeff Bridges. It must really suck to be you, dude!

  • Keep in mind, this is my opinion. I know Mr. Bridges was playing the President, but he portrayed a president that we desperately needed when Bush Jr won. Too conservative for America imo, and his father wasn't much better. I'm an independent voter, even though I'm not registered. Long story short, I don't trust politicians after the Bush fiasco, any more questions?

  • FTW

  • Reminds me of all the hate directed at Sarah Palin.

  • @meshlife88 She isn't being rejected by congress. She is being rejected by the American people.

Stop playing victim........ it gets really old.

  • A GREAT MOVIE with great writing and acting BY ALL !! Get it.

  • One republican dislike this

  • A good movie, very good performance by Bridges, shame thats its kinda over looked, anyone have the soundtrack?

  • Thank you for posting this. Jeff Bridges amazes me with his ability to be presidential and yet human at all times. He projects the authority of a man who understands his authority and how to best use it. The way he deals with his staff, political supporters and enemies reveals a man wise in the ways of politics but using that wisdom always to serve the greater good, not the petty or partisan.

  • @1915fas "Presidential and yet human at all times"

:P Because Americans usually outsource their presidents from Mars.

  • I've seen several actors play the president-but Jeff Bridges stands out because he was clearly open-minded enough to take his chances with Laine Hanson, despite opposition from both parties. Most presidential figures that I've seen have been good, Bill Pullman-despite his mistakes in Independence Day, did a very nice job, Harrison Ford in Air Force One- I'd vote for him over Bush jr. any day, and the list goes on, keep in mind these are just my opinions, you wanna disagree, it's open for talk.

  • @tonyb0904 So how does Jeff Bridges stand out.....except for a great performance?"Bridges stands out because he was clearly open-minded to take chances with Laine Hanson,despite.." Now,I think you know but I´m not completely sure...Bridges wasn´t the actual president at this time.He portrayed a character who was the president. And too even mention Pullman, who in a movie that took patriotism to new levels without any irony, actually got in an airplane and fought aliens Himself....great comedy.
